Automatic Downloads for In-App Content

This is a question as I don't found any related documents or posts anywhere about this. Does anyone know how and when will this "pop up" shown?

Hello! The system shows that sheet the first time someone downloads from the App Store an app that uses Background Assets. It doesn’t show the sheet again after that.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

I have a follow-up question: in my case, the user launches the App Clip via NFC. Does this mean the App Clip is using the Background Assets feature, or is it handled differently?

Thank you in advance.

The sheet is specific to Background Assets, not App Clips. There’s no requirement that an App Clip use Background Assets.

Got it, thank you for the clarification.

I’ve confirmed that neither my main app nor the App Clip explicitly integrates Background Assets.

However, I noticed that both targets import StoreKit, and from my investigation, StoreKit appears to reference BackgroundAssets internally. Could this indirect dependency be triggering the behavior I’m seeing?

I’ve attached a screenshot showing the dependency chain for reference.

Thanks for your help.
