Hi everyone,
We’re integrating Apple Calendar (iCalendar) into our Codapet app but haven’t found any official Apple APIs for event management and synchronisation.
Currently, we use CalDAV with Apple ID authentication and an app-specific password (ASP), storing the ASP encrypted in our database and decrypting it for each API call. We’re looking for a more secure and recommended approach to this integration.
Does Apple provide dedicated APIs for calendar sync, or is there a better alternative to avoid sending the ASP with every request? Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
We have a login flow where the user authenticates in Safari, and at the end of the process the authentication server redirects back to our app using a Universal Link.
On most devices, the app opens automatically without any confirmation banner.
However, on several iPads, Safari always shows the “Open App A?” banner after the redirect. The user must tap Open every time. Other devices running the same iOS version do not show this issue.
Expected Flow (working devices):
Start authentication
Safari login
Authentication server redirects using a Universal Link
App A opens automatically
Problematic Flow (several iPads):
Start authentication
Safari login
Authentication server redirects using a Universal Link
Safari shows “Open App A?” confirmation banner
User must tap Open
App A starts
Questions:
Is this a known issue in iOS?
Or is this expected behavior under certain conditions (i.e., is there a specific Safari/iOS specification that causes this banner to appear)?
Is there any way to prevent Safari from showing the “Open App A?” banner and allow automatic redirection?
*This issue did not occur on iOS 16, but it started appearing after updating to iOS 17.

When fetching Apple Savings transactions via FinanceKit, the data is missing key context about where the deposit originated from.
Here’s an example transaction I retrieved:
Transaction(
id: 77371A0C-7122-42C7-BEBC-85BDF654AD2B,
accountID: 68D9FE9D-6DA6-4A27-BB9D-19209CD29A56,
transactionAmount: 1.46 USD,
creditDebitIndicator: .credit,
transactionDescription: "Deposit",
originalTransactionDescription: "",
merchantCategoryCode: nil,
merchantName: nil,
transactionType: .deposit,
status: .booked,
transactionDate: 2025-08-20 13:44:26 +0000,
postedDate: 2025-08-20 13:44:26 +0000
)
As shown:
transactionDescription is just "Deposit"
merchantName is nil
No indication of the source account
In contrast, the Wallet app clearly shows context for Apple Savings account deposits, such as:
"Apple Card" (daily cash)
"Bank of America" (external transfer)
"Interest Paid" (we do see "Interest" come through correctly)
Without this metadata, third-party apps cannot replicate Wallet’s clarity about where a deposit came from. Every deposit simply appears as "Deposit", which is ambiguous.
Request:
Please expose additional metadata for Apple Savings account transactions, for example:
sourceAccountName (e.g. “Apple Card” or “Bank of America”)
transactionOriginType (cashback, external bank transfer, interest)
institutionIdentifier or similar for external banks
This would allow developers to show clear, Wallet-quality transaction details and avoid confusing users.
Impact:
The lack of source info makes Savings deposits nearly indistinguishable from one another, even though Wallet provides this context. For apps leveraging FinanceKit, this results in a poorer experience compared to Apple’s own Wallet.
Thanks!

I'd like to write a MacOS App that makes use of the ASAM functonality as described here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/autonomoussingleappmode
I have tried to use the example with Safari, and have enrolled a Mac with MDM and installed the profile. But when opening Safari it does not appear in Single App Mode. I've only tried it with Safari so far but eventually I want to be able to use my own App.
Is there an API that has to be used to enter single app mode programmatically? I've found the whole Assessment API but as I do not have the required entitlements to use that API I'm looking for another solution. The documentation on ASAM does not mention the Assessment API at all, is it the only way to enter "a" single app mode on MacOS? How is the Assessment API linked to ASAM? As far as I have understood there's the com.apple.developer.automatic-assessment-configuration entitlement but apps having this do not need to be configured via MDM? I'm really confused as to what's actually required to be able to get into single app mode on MacOS. The app I'm trying to write isn't really related to an an assessment task, but I am doing this for an academic institution so maybe requesting the entitlement would be feasable.
The documentation on ASAM also mentions that the App is granted access to the "Accessibility" API and I've found the whole
UIAccessibility/requestGuidedAccessSession but this does not seem to be available on MacOS proper?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I am unable to figure out how I tell the FamilyActivityPicker whether it should show apps installed on my personal device (to be used with AuthorizationCenter.shared.requestAuthorization(for: .individual)) or apps installed on my child’s device (authenticated their phone via AuthorizationCenter.shared.requestAuthorization(for: .child)).
Is there any parameter or SwiftUI modifier I need to apply?
Otherwise, how does the user or the app know which token belongs to them and which token belongs to their child’s device?

Thanks a lot for your help!
I have a public and accessible .well-known/apple-app-site-association
file for both my domain.com and subdomain.domain.com with
"paths": ["*"] .
Both example.com and blog.example.com are added in Associated domains and any link that contains domain.com and domain.com/path normally deep links into my app.
I used to have an *.example.com that successfully deep linked all my subdomains into my app but now I had to remove it as some subdomains will need to link to other apps, but some should still link to the same app.
I removed * but left blog.example.com as that specific subdomain still needs to deep link into my app. But now blog.example.com is not even being recognized by my app and any link starting with blog.example.com just opens in safari.
What am I missing? Why is this happening ?
Issue Description:
When an alarm is set for a time earlier than the current system time, and the system time is manually adjusted back to before the alarm time, the alarm does not ring when the scheduled time is reached.
Steps to Reproduce:
Current time is 23:34
Set an alarm for 23:30 (earlier than the current time)
Manually change the system time to 23:28
Wait until the time reaches 23:30
The alarm does not ring

Hello,
I'm working on implementing Live Caller ID Lookup, but I noticed that https://github.com/apple/live-caller-id-lookup-example redirects to https://github.com/apple/pir-service-example.
Could you please clarify why this redirection occurs?
Text filtering: behavior of current message is affected by behavior of past message from same origin
If there is this situation:
A text message is sent from a sender and gets classified as junk (by a text filtering extension) with the result that it gets send to the spam folder as expected.
A text message with different content is sent from the same sender and gets classified as allowed, however it also gets sent to the spam folder.
If the above is repeated but after step 1 the message is deleted, then in step 2 the message doesn't get sent to the spam folder.
So the presence of the message from step 1 being in the spam folder is having an effect on the behavior of step 2.
Expected beahavour (if so, why?), or a defect?
Hello I'm working on Live Caller ID Lookup implementation on my own pet-project, as I understood I need to create app and extension for this app. I also created test PIR-service. I did configure serviceURL, tokenIssuerURL and userTierToken. In My app I implemented following code
Task {
if LiveCallerIDLookupManager.shared.status(forExtensionWithIdentifier: "some-extension") == .disabled {
`//` Show an alert.
print("LiveCallerIDLookupManager is disabled")
}
do {
// Open Settings.
try await LiveCallerIDLookupManager.shared.openSettings()
} catch {
}
It does open Call settings, but I don't understand what should I do next.
Steps To reproduce:
Login to application and App has joined the PTC channel.
Push the application to background and Lock the device.
From the System UI press the talk button which will start transmit.
Audio Session has been activated and Audio unit has been initialised properly.
On terminator side no media is being played out.
Issue observed consistently on specific models which has configured audio codec with Stereo type.
More details are added : FB20281626
I'm currently experimenting with AlarmKit and, when configuring an alarm with a Relative schedule, but that never repeats, I find that it is still scheduled in the AlarmManager, but the documentation says that an alarm that has no repeat schedule will be removed from the AlarmManager after firing.
This behavior is experienced both in my project and with the sample code AlarmKit-ScheduleAndAlert
To reproduce, create a non-repeating alarm, and, after firing, it will still be on the list marked as Scheduled
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

When updating an existing advanced app clip experience, the change doesn't actually apply. It shows the correct image in the UI, but when you use the app clip it shows the old image. Looking into it more, the status has "UPDATE_SUBMITTED". Seems related to this issue (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/810544) and this issue (https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/810351).
I'm sitting at my house and trying to sign my test device out of my apple ID so I can sign into a Sandbox user, but now I have an hour to kill because of this terribly broken "security" feature that thinks it's in an unfamiliar location, despite being at the only location it's ever known. Looks like I'll just be disabling this feature all together.
Especially as a device with Developer Mode enabled, which gets reset regularly, there should be additional options here. Come on!
Hi Apple Dev community,
I want to ask if CallKit and CXCallDirectoryProvider (with addBlockingEntryWithNextSequentialPhoneNumber) doesn't work for 3rd party Phone apps.
Is this a known issue that CallKit doesn't work on 3rd party iOS Phone apps (like WhatsApp, etc)?
Thank you.
I found currently there is no way to revoke sharing age to an app after I shared to it, no matter in testing or in app settings
My app is configured with the App Clip experiences, and a Clip App card pops up when an NFC tag is scanned—whether the host app is not launched, running in the background, or active in the foreground. I want to prevent the App Clip card from popping up when the host app is in the foreground; how can this be achieved?
Our app provides a calendar that integrates with the default calendar app. Specifically, we use iOS EventKit to perform CRUD operations on calendar data.
Recently, we have received reports from users that all of their events have disappeared. However, after reviewing our implementation and logs, we have not been able to identify the cause. Some users have also reported that all data in their default calendar app has disappeared as well.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
To delete an event within our app, users must press the delete button and then confirm the deletion in a dialog. Additionally, it is not possible to delete more than two events at once.
We've seen many people in the community discussing a bug where calendar events disappear after updating to iOS 18. If you have any information about when or why this happens, we'd appreciate it if you could share your insights.
What I want to achieve now is that when the app is not running, upon receiving a notification, it displays an interface similar to CallKit with accept and decline buttons.
Here is part of my code:
@available(iOS 17.4, *)
class LiveCommunicationManager: NSObject, ConversationManagerDelegate {
static let shared = LiveCommunicationManager()
var isInvalidate:Bool = false
var configuration: ConversationManager!
override init() {
let config = ConversationManager.Configuration(
ringtoneName: "notes_of_the_optimistic",
iconTemplateImageData: UIImage(named: "AppIcon")?.pngData(), // 图标的 PNG 数据
)
configuration = ConversationManager.init(configuration: config)
}
func reportIncomingCall(uuid: UUID, callerName: String) {
configuration.delegate = self
let local = Handle(type: .generic, value: callerName, displayName: callerName)
let update = Conversation.Update(localMember: local,members: [local],activeRemoteMembers: [local])
Task{
do {
try await configuration.reportNewIncomingConversation(uuid: uuid, update: update)
print("成功报告新来电")
} catch {
print("报告新来电失败: \(error.localizedDescription)")
}
}
}
func conversationManager(_ manager: ConversationManager, conversationChanged conversation: Conversation) {
print("会话状态改变了")
}
func conversationManagerDidBegin(_ manager: ConversationManager) {
print("会话已经开始了")
manager.delegate = self
}
func conversationManagerDidReset(_ manager: ConversationManager) {
print("会话将要清除了")
}
func conversationManager(_ manager: ConversationManager, perform action: ConversationAction) {
print("会话接听了")
configuration.invalidate()
}
func conversationManager(_ manager: ConversationManager, timedOutPerforming action: ConversationAction) {
print("会话超时了")
}
func conversationManager(_ manager: ConversationManager, didActivate audioSession: AVAudioSession) {
print("会话激活了")
}
func conversationManager(_ manager: ConversationManager, didDeactivate audioSession: AVAudioSession) {
print("会话死亡了")
}
}
在Appdelegate里设置了这些:
func application(_ application: UIApplication,
didReceiveRemoteNotification userInfo: [AnyHashable: Any],
fetchCompletionHandler completionHandler: @escaping (UIBackgroundFetchResult) -> Void) {
// 在这里处理离线推送通知
completionHandler(.noData) // 返回后台任务完成
if let aps = userInfo["aps"] as? [String: Any],
let alert = aps["alert"] as? [String : Any]{
// 静默推送的处理逻辑
if #available(iOS 17.4, *) {
let manager = LiveCommunicationManager.shared
if manager.isInvalidate { return }
if let msgType = userInfo["msgType"] as? Int{
if msgType == 5{
manager.configuration.invalidate()
}else{
let callerName = alert["title"] as? String ?? "Fanvil"
manager.reportIncomingCall(uuid: UUID(), callerName: callerName)
}
}
}
}
}
Xcode has been configured with the necessary capabilities, such as Background Fetch, Voice over IP, Background Processing, and Push Notification.
The issue now is that sometimes the code works as expected, allowing the app to wake up when not running and displaying the system interface with accept and decline buttons. However, after a few successful attempts, the app stops waking up, and no notification appears. But when I manually open the app, the didReceiveRemoteNotification method gets triggered.
I’d like to know why this stops working after a few times.
