React Native iOS - Notification Service Extension Not Working
I've added a Notification Service Extension as a target to my React Native iOS app following Apple's official documentation. After completing all the setup steps as outlined in the documentation, the notification titles remain unchanged - notifications are arriving without any modifications, suggesting the extension isn't functioning properly.Testing Details: Sending notifications via Apple Push Notification Console Tested on iPhone 16 Pro Max (physical device) Tested on iPhone 15 Pro simulator Both show the same issue - no title modifications The extension appears to not be executing at all. Has anyone encountered similar issues with Notification Service Extensions in React Native projects, or can suggest troubleshooting steps to verify the extension is properly configured and running?

Why iOS App Upgrades Fail to Apply Background Mode Settings
We have a question regarding iOS app configuration and the Remote notifications background mode. During our testing, we observed: *When enabling or disabling Signing & Capabilities > Background Modes > Remote notifications, the change does not take effect on devices that already have the app installed. *The app continues to behave according to the old configuration. *Only after uninstalling the app and reinstalling it from the App Store do the new settings take effect (for example, whether the app can be woken up by silent push). *We also tested updating the app with a new version number (App Store upgrade flow), but the new settings still did not apply. Our questions are: 1.Is there any way to make iOS re-read the updated Signing & Capabilities (Background Modes) settings without requiring a full uninstall/reinstall? 2.Is it expected behavior that even an App Store upgrade with a new version number will not apply these changes? thanks!

Not receiving apple server notification v2 on production URL
Hello, previously i have tested the purchase via test flight and the server notification was sent to my sandbox url. Now when I made the purchase from live app, my server did not receive any notification even though the production url was the same as the sandbox url. The purchase was for a consumable product. Please help, thanks.

About Delay issues with iPhone VoIP applications
We are encountering the following issue with our VoIP application for iPhone, published on the App Store, and would appreciate your guidance on possible countermeasures. The VoIP application (callee side) utilizes a Wi-Fi network. The sequence leading to the issue is as follows: VoIP App (callee): Launches iPhone (callee): Locks (e.g., by short-pressing the power button) VoIP App (callee): Transitions to a suspended state VoIP App (caller): Initiates a VoIP call VoIP App (callee): Receives a local push notification VoIP App (callee): Answers the incoming call VoIP App (callee): Executes performAnswerCallAction() After this, the VoIP App (callee) uses "NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval" to manage internal processing timing. However, the processing sometimes takes longer than the specified waiting time. Specifically, delays of several seconds can occur. We understood that if the user is interacting with the screen and both the iPhone and the VoIP app are in an active state, the VoIP app's processing would not be delayed. However, can significant delays (several seconds) in application processing still occur even when the iPhone is in an active state (i.e., the user is interacting with the screen)?"

My app suddenly cannot receive push notifications
My app(The Smart Life app) is unable to receive push notifications. Please confirm whether APNs has received push notifications from Alibaba Cloud and whether APNs has successfully pushed notifications to the Smart Life app.The Smart Life app uses Alibaba Cloud's push notification service. The message ID pushed by Alibaba Cloud is: f7a02288-a995-47ed-b417-837461028f03 Current Symptom: Alibaba Cloud has reported that this message has been successfully pushed to APNs, but the smart life app has not received any push notifications. The feedback log from Alibaba Cloud shows that the APNs push was successful, but the smart life app did not receive any push. Because APNs do not have message receipts and Alibaba Cloud cannot obtain notification delivery status, it is recommended that I use the APNs channel message ID to submit a work order to Apple technical support for investigation. Note: All push notification permissions for the Smart Life app are enabled, and the Smart Life app is in the foreground when push notifications are sent.

Push notifications don't deliver when device is idle on iOS 18.7 and 26.0
There's a list of bug reports: FB19778882 FB19813796 FB19852724 FB19767262 FB20378888 FB20379383 FB20394663 Me and many other users have issue with push notifications. To reproduce this you should do this steps: Lock iPhone and make it idle for 10+ minutes; Send any message from other device via third-party app that uses push notifications (WhatsApp, Telegram and etc.); After few attempts you can see, that messages don't deliver. They delivers immediately when I unlock iPhone or go to the app. This bug reproduces on iOS 18.7 and 27. As I think iPhone goes to deep sleep after 10+ minutes after it locked and don't get push notifications. I've tried everything: many of settings, DFU without backup, but nothing helps to resolve this issue. Pay attention, please, cause this bug is very annoying and present on iOS 18.7 (that is the last for many devices) and latest iOS 26. Thanks!

Incoming call notifications problems

Any idea on why we are encountering that behavior? Thanks

What is the point of thread-id/grouping in push notifications if grouping depends upon user preferences?
There's plenty of articles out there about programatically grouping push notifications. However I have tried setting the thread-id in the push payload when sending a push, or setting the threadIdentifier for a received push in a notification service extension to be the same for several pushes. But if within the iPhone Settings / Notifications the user selects to display pushes as List and turns off Notification Grouping, then each notification resulting from the push appears on its own separately. Is there something other than thread-id/threadidentifier that is used to programmatically group them? If not then whats the point of these as grouping and display is actually under the control of user.

VoIP / PushKit notification failure on versions of iOS 18
We are trying to figure out a strange issue. Our app has not changed for at least 10 months but my devices and the QA tester device have all stopped receiving push/call notifications for twilio voip The twilio credential and apple voip services certificate are in date and valid It is pointing to the correct bundle id and topic (not changed configuration for years) token passed in to TwilioVoiceSDK.register() is retrieved from PKPushRegistry as per guide Running locally the Twilio Voice SDK successfully registers and retrieves APNs token What is interesting is if I log in with exactly the same client account on an iOS 18.5 device (and an older iPad) call notifications work perfectly (I have made sure all focus modes/dnd are off and notification settings are identical) The only changes myself and QA have made recently is minor iOS 18 version updates - 18.6.2 and 18.7.1 These now receive Invalid device token from APNs when Twilio attempts to create a call/voip notification for the user identity Our devices sometimes switch environments test/prod so I installed the app cleanly on a borrowed 18.6.2 device and got the exact same issue We have tested on these devices most of the year with no issues. I have been in touch with twilio support and added code to explicitly unregister and re register on an affected device to clear any bindings but it didn't help. Have apple made any changes in PushKit or token behaviour for later versions of iOS 18? Thanks

CarPlay: no banner or sound for APNs while connected, works on phone (iOS 18.0, UNNotificationCategoryOptions.allowInCarPlay)
Hi everyone! I’m integrating push notifications for a taxi-driver app and ran into a blocking CarPlay issue. When the iPhone is connected to CarPlay (wired or wireless), the push arrives on the phone without any sound and nothing is shown or announced on the CarPlay screen. If I unplug CarPlay, the same push plays the default sound and shows a normal banner on the lock screen, so the payload itself looks valid. Time-Sensitive Trip Offer UI (Lock Screen + Persistent Until Action) – iOS 14 Best Practice?
Hello, I am developing a driver-based application targeting iOS 14+, where users receive time-sensitive trip offers (approximately 10–15 seconds to respond). We would like to implement behavior similar to approval-based apps (e.g., MyGate-style interaction), with the following requirements: When the device is locked: A highly visible notification that allows quick Accept / Decline action. When the device is unlocked (foreground or background): A notification that remains prominently visible (sticky-style) at the top of the screen until the user takes action (Accept / Decline) or the offer expires. Our goal is to ensure the offer remains noticeable and actionable within the short response window. I would appreciate clarification on the following: On iOS 14, is there any supported mechanism to present a true full-screen blocking interface while the device is locked (without using CallKit or Critical Alerts entitlement)? Is there a supported way to make a notification persistent or non-dismissible until the user takes action or the offer expires? Are there any App Review concerns with presenting a blocking modal immediately after the user interacts with a notification? We want to ensure full compliance with Apple’s platform guidelines and avoid unsupported or discouraged patterns. Thank you for your guidance.

How to correctly convert the bytes type devicetoken obtained from the MDM description file to the 16-bit hexadecimal data required by APNS?
I have converted a large part of the data, but only 5% of the data was successfully converted. The failed devicetoken shows "bad devicetoken" when accessing APNS. Here are examples of failed conversions devicetoken. Is there any official documentation for this part? PushKit (VoIP) delivery issue — user’s device fails to receive VoIP pushes; logging in on that device suppresses VoIP pushes for all devices of that user
We are facing an issue where VoIP notifications are not delivered to a user's device. If we login with the user credentials on another device the VoIP notifications are being received, if he logs in on his device VoIP notifications are not being received anymore on all devices. So When the user logs in on the affected device, all devices on that account stop receiving VoIP pushes (including the affected one). Logging out on the affected device restores delivery to other devices. What could cause this issue? It's only happening for this user so the configuration and mobile app PushKit code is working as intended.

Problem receiving Remote Notification in the background after Review Rejected
I created an app. One if its functionalities is receive Remote Notification in the background, while app is monitoring Significant Location Changes (SLC). This functionality worked fine. I was receiving these notifications correctly. Sometimes instantly, sometime with small or large delay. And then I send the app for review. It was rejected with 3 remarks: The app or metadata includes information about third-party platforms that may not be relevant for App Store users, who are focused on experiences offered by the app itself (I wrote that app communication works both for iOS and Android.) The app declares support for audio in the UIBackgroundModes key in your Info.plist but we are unable to locate any features that require persistent audio. EULA (End User License Agreement) is missing for in-app purchases. After the rejection the app is no longer receiving these notifications. They are there, since the app receives them, when I open app, or significant location change is detected. It also works, when I run the app directly from Xcode (in debug mode), not from TestFlight nor in Sandbox. It seem to me like Apple somehow spoiled my background capabilities on purpose or accidentally. Is it possible? What can I do with it? Is it the case that I should just fix the review remarks and send the app back to review, and once the app passes it, it will work again? Or should I not count on it? Any suggestions? APNs returning successful response for a token from an app that was uninstalled more than a month ago
We are observing an weird behaviour where a user uninstalled the app back in February (more than a month ago) but APNs is still accepting push notifications are returning success responses. We know that using APNs response codes for uninstall tracking is not reliable and that Apple will use fuzzy schedule to invalidate tokens. However, showing successful responses for month+ old tokens seems a bit misleading and results in wasted token processing for both us and Apple. Could you please confirm that invalidation (or fuzzy schedule) could take more than months to invalidate tokens on the APNs side? Is that expected or is this a bug somewhere?
