VOIP is not receiving calls
Hello, I am developing a calling service using CallKit and VOIP push. I have occasionally encountered a strange issue. The issue is that VOIP permanently fails to receive calls. I was previously informed that even if the device is blocked, it can receive calls again after 24 hours. Also, when I checked the device logic, it complied with the policy requirements set by Apple, including correctly calling CallKit's reportNewIncomingCall method. Once the issue occurs, no matter how many times I try, VOIP does not receive calls, and neither a device reboot nor checking the Device Console Log shows any logs related to CallKit or VOIP. I suspect this might be an issue with the VOIP token, and I believe that the only way to get a new one is to reinstall the app. Is that correct? Of course, after reinstalling, it works fine again, but this is very inconvenient. I don't think this is the right solution. Is there anyone who can share their insights on this issue? Thank you.

Unable to Receive APNs Device Token in Unity iOS App Despite Proper Configuration
I’m currently developing an iOS app built in Unity, exported to Xcode for signing and deployment. The app needs to register for Apple Push Notifications (APNs) to retrieve the device token and register it with a backend service (PlayFab). Despite enabling the required capabilities and entitlements, the app never receives a device token — the authorization request succeeds, but the token remains empty (req.DeviceToken is null in Unity). I’ve confirmed that the issue occurs before PlayFab or Firebase are involved, meaning the app never receives the token from Apple Push Notification service (APNs) itself. The Unity script I am using is: #if UNITY_IOS using UnityEngine; using Unity.Notifications.iOS; using PlayFab; using PlayFab.ClientModels; using System.Collections; using System; public class iOSPushInit : MonoBehaviour { private const int MaxRetries = 5; private const float RetryDelay = 2f; // seconds void Start() { Debug.Log("🛠 iOSPushInitDebug starting..."); StartCoroutine(RequestAuthorizationAndRegister()); } private IEnumerator RequestAuthorizationAndRegister() { // Request Alert + Badge + Sound permissions and register for remote notifications var authOptions = AuthorizationOption.Alert | AuthorizationOption.Badge | AuthorizationOption.Sound; using (var req = new AuthorizationRequest(authOptions, true)) { Debug.Log("⏳ Waiting for user authorization..."); while (!req.IsFinished) { yield return null; } Debug.Log($"🔔 Authorization finished at {DateTime. Now}: granted={req.Granted}, error={req.Error}"); if (!req.Granted) { Debug.LogError("❌ User denied notification permissions! Cannot get APNs token."); yield break; } // Authorization granted → check for device token int attempt = 0; string token = req.DeviceToken; Debug.Log($"req.DeviceToken: {req.DeviceToken}"); while (string.IsNullOrEmpty(token) && attempt < MaxRetries) { attempt++; Debug.Log($"ℹ️ APNs token not available yet. Attempt {attempt}/{MaxRetries}. Waiting {RetryDelay} seconds..."); yield return new WaitForSeconds(RetryDelay); token = req.DeviceToken; } if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(token)) { Debug.LogWarning("⚠️ APNs token still null after multiple attempts. Try again on next app launch."); yield break; } Debug.Log($"📱 APNs Token acquired at {DateTime. Now}: {token}"); // Register with PlayFab var request = new RegisterForIOSPushNotificationRequest { DeviceToken = token, SendPushNotificationConfirmation = false }; PlayFabClientAPI.RegisterForIOSPushNotification(request, result => Debug.Log("✅ APNs token successfully registered with PlayFab."), error => Debug.LogError("❌ Failed to register APNs token with PlayFab: " + error.GenerateErrorReport())); } } } #endif When running on a real device (not simulator), the following is logged in Xcode: 🔔 Authorization finished: granted=True, error= ℹ️ APNs token not yet available. Try again on next app launch. In the Xcode console, I do not see the expected APNs registration message: [Device] Registered for remote notifications with token: <...> Environment Details: Engine: Unity 6000.2.6f2 Notifications package: com.unity.mobile.notifications 2.4.2 Xcode: 16.4 (16F6) iOS Device: iPhone 12, iOS 26.0.1 Testing Method: Building directly from Unity → Xcode → real device Signing mode: Automatic (with correct Team selected) Certificates in account: Apple Development certificate (active) Apple Distribution certificate (active) Provisioning Profile: Type: App Store (also tested Development profile) Enabled Capabilities: Push Notifications, In-App Purchase App ID Capabilities: Push Notifications: Enabled Development SSL certificate: Present Production SSL certificate: Not generated (yet) Background Modes -> remote notifications What I Have Verified: ✅ Push Notifications capability is enabled in the Xcode target (not UnityFramework). ✅ Team and Bundle Identifier match my Apple Developer App ID. ✅ App ID has Push Notifications enabled in the Developer Portal. ✅ Tested on a real iOS device with working internet. ✅ Rebuilt and reinstalled app after enabling Push Notifications. ✅ Authorization dialog appears and permission is granted by user. How can I resolve this issue?

Questions about using the "UserNotification framework"
In macOS, how can I use UnmutableNotificationContent notifications to prevent the main window from activating when clicking the notification? code: import Cocoa import UserNotifications // Mandatory import for notification functionality class ViewController: NSViewController { override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() // Automatically request permissions and send a test notification when the view loads sendLocalNotification() } /// Core method to send a local notification func sendLocalNotification() { let notificationCenter = UNUserNotificationCenter.current() // 1. Request notification permissions (Mandatory step; user approval required) notificationCenter.requestAuthorization(options: [.alert, .sound, .badge]) { [weak self] isGranted, error in guard let self = self else { return } // Handle permission request errors if let error = error { print("Permission request failed: \(error.localizedDescription)") return } // Exit if user denies permission if !isGranted { print("User denied notification permissions; cannot send notifications") return } // 2. Construct notification content using UNMutableNotificationContent let notificationContent = UNMutableNotificationContent() notificationContent.title = "Swift Notification Test" // Notification title notificationContent.subtitle = "macOS Local Notification" // Optional subtitle notificationContent.body = "This is a notification created with UNMutableNotificationContent" // Main content notificationContent.sound = .default // Optional notification sound (set to nil for no sound) notificationContent.badge = 1 // Optional app icon badge (set to nil for no badge) // 3. Set trigger condition (here: "trigger after 3 seconds"; can also use time/calendar triggers) let notificationTrigger = UNTimeIntervalNotificationTrigger( timeInterval: 3, // Delay in seconds repeats: false // Whether to repeat (false = one-time only) ) // 4. Create a notification request (requires a unique ID for later cancellation if needed) let notificationRequest = UNNotificationRequest( identifier: "SwiftMacNotification_001", // Unique identifier content: notificationContent, trigger: notificationTrigger ) // 5. Add the request to the notification center and wait for triggering notificationCenter.add(notificationRequest) { error in if let error = error { print("Notification delivery failed: \(error.localizedDescription)") } else { print("Notification added to queue; will trigger in 3 seconds") } } } } }

iOS 18 Sending Duplicate Push Notifications
When sending a single push notification to iOS 18 devices users receive the same notification multiple times. This issue appears specific to iOS 18 and was not observed in previous iOS versions Our server logs confirm each notification is sent only once. Notification payloads include proper apns-id values for identification and no network issues detected on our side

Is there a way to dynamically configure Actionable Notifications?
Hello, We are trying to implement Actionable Notifications on iOS via Remote Notifications. According to Apple’s official documentation (Declaring Your Actionable Notification Types), it is recommended to register notification categories at launch time. However, in our use case, the number of buttons and their actions in the Actionable Notification are determined at the time of the Remote Notification request. This means that we cannot predefine the categories at app launch but need to dynamically configure them based on the payload of the Remote Notification. Our Approach We are considering setting aps.mutable-content = 1 and using Notification Service Extension to modify the categoryIdentifier dynamically. Below is the JSON payload we plan to use for Remote Notifications: { "aps": { "alert": { "title": "New Message Received!", "body": "Check out the details." }, "category": "DYNAMIC_CATEGORY", "mutable-content": 1 }, "categoryData": { "id": "DYNAMIC_CATEGORY", "actions": [ { "id": "REPLY_ACTION", "title": "Reply", "options": ["foreground"] }, { "id": "DELETE_ACTION", "title": "Delete", "options": ["destructive"] } ] } } Questions: Can we dynamically configure Actionable Notifications based on the Remote Notification payload? If we set categoryIdentifier in Notification Service Extension’s didReceive(_:withContentHandler:), will users still see the correct action buttons even if the app is terminated? What is the recommended approach to dynamically configure Actionable Notifications at the time of receiving the Remote Notification, rather than at app launch?

Push Notification Sound and Notification Service Extension When App is Killed
Dear Apple Developer Support, I am currently developing an iOS application that uses push notifications with custom .caf audio and a Notification Service Extension. I have implemented the extension to download and play a dynamic sound file from a remote sound_url. It works well when the app is in the foreground or background. However, when the app is force-closed (swiped up from multitasking), the Notification Service Extension does not seem to run. As a result, the custom sound is not downloaded or played. I would like to confirm: Is it possible to trigger the Notification Service Extension when the app is killed? If not, what is the correct way to play a custom .caf sound when the app is terminated? Should I preload and save the .caf file in App Group storage and reference it by name in the sound field? Are there any best practices or limitations regarding push notification customization when the app is killed? I appreciate your help in clarifying this issue. Thank you very much! Best regards, Phan Van Tung

APNS always returning "discarded as device was offline"
Approx Dec 13th 2025 til now (Dec 29th) I noticed my APNS dropped off to nothing daily. When I try to send APNS alerts on the developer site tool it always returns "discarded as device was offline" for multiple devices which I know are online. When I try pushing through my VPS (as I always have without any code changes for months) I get status codes of 400 and 403 mostly and a few 200's without it delivering also. I created a new sandbox certificate just in case it was that but still no luck, I get the same results. Ive checked for any firewall issues and I see the following on my VPS: nslookup gateway.push.apple.com Server: 1.1.1.1 Address: 1.1.1.1#53 ** server can't find gateway.push.apple.com: NXDOMAIN This seems like a second issue but not the primary issue that the portal is reporting. Any ideas what to check? Im at a loss as to why its not working at all through apples test notification portal on my developer account. It seems thats the initial issue I need to solve. Thank you for any ideas/help

Push notification sent to uninstalled app
I am using push notification in my app. User token gets properly registered and is sent to server. Notification are also sent by server and recieved on device as expected. The problem occurs when user uninstalls the app. iOS does not provide any option to handle uninstall event. On top of that when server send notification to such device token APNS feedback service sends success message. Meaning APNS sends push notifications to uninstalled app.I have an API to unregister the device on server since no event is triggered I am unable to call it.Please suggest a way out.

Getting VoIP notifications to work and use iOS call UI when phone is locked/app is in background/Not running
Hey there my application allows users to have video calls with each other using Agora. I have successfully set up incoming call functionality on Android but on iOS I am struggling to get the call ui to appear when the app is not running/in background/locked. To my knowledge this is because there is much stricter security on iOS which is limiting me from calling this. When i initially set it up it worked at first when the app was in the background but I think I was failing to report the call to call kit in time and now it's not working. I'm not sure if I need access to this entitlement: com.apple.developer.pushkit.unrestricted-voip Which i believe is only for the big boys or if I make sure I'm reporting the call to call kit fast enough that I won't encounter this issue and it will consistently work in the background.

RESCIND_CONSENT notification not delivered in Sandbox environment
I am currently testing the Declared Age Range / Parental Consent flow in the Sandbox environment, and I am experiencing an issue where the RESCIND_CONSENT App Store Server Notification is not being delivered to my server. 🔍 Test Environment iOS version: iOS 26.2 (Sandbox environment) App Store Server Notifications: Sandbox environment 🔄 Test Scenario App Settings > Developer > Sign in with a Sandbox account Launch the app In App Settings > Developer > Sandbox Account > Management > Revoke App Consent, enter the app’s Bundle ID, tap the Revoke Consent button, and confirm that the revocation completion popup message is displayed Check whether App Store Server Notifications are received by the server Confirm that the RESCIND_CONSENT notification is not received by the server ✅ Expected Result The App Store Server sends a RESCIND_CONSENT notification to the Sandbox endpoint The notification payload includes appTransactionId The server can block app access based on the corresponding appTransactionId ❌ Actual Result No RESCIND_CONSENT notification is received in the Sandbox environment ❓ Questions Is this behavior an intended limitation of the Sandbox environment, or is it a known issue or bug? Is it possible that RESCIND_CONSENT notifications will only be delivered starting January 1, 2026? Additionally, when a RESCIND_CONSENT server notification is received, I currently update my database with the appTransactionId and the registration date. When a minor attempts to access the app, I check the latest appTransactionId status, and if the most recent state indicates consent has been revoked, I block app access and prompt the user to request parental consent again using PermissionKit.

AlarmKit alarms do not fire when foregrounded app is in landscape
Hello! When setting an alarm in an AlarmKit app, the alarm will not fire properly/reliably (the alert presentation is not shown) while the device has an app foregrounded in the landscape orientation. This behaviour has been present since the betas, however until the first party Reminders app showed the behaviour in the iOS 26.2 beta I suspected the issue was in my own code. The behaviour is exhibited when scheduling alarms in several AlarmKit apps: The Reminders app The AlarmKit WWDC Demo Project My own AlarmKit app However alarms scheduled by the stock Clock app do not seem to exhibit the behaviour. Minimal repro with first party app: Be using iOS 26.2 beta Open Reminders app Create an urgent reminder for a time in the not too distant future Open Mail.app Change to landscape orientation Wait for the fire time Observe the phone vibrates at the correct time but no alarm is fired Drag the notifications pane down, observe the LiveActivity has been started Change to portrait orientation Observe alarm fires I have noticed this behaviour from the AlarmKit apps mentioned while foregrounding other apps besides Mail, both first and third party: Photos YouTube Netflix The behaviour does not seem to occur when the foregrounded app is restricted to portrait mode, no matter the actual orientation of the device. In the case of my own app I have tried a multitude of ideas to get it to work reliably, getting alarms to fire in landscape is very intermittent at best and most often works after a fresh reboot. I've submitted a Feedback for the Reminders app: FB20956492. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!

APNs keep returning unregistered token
Hi, we've observed a weird behavior for a small amount of our user that we keep receiving the same token from APNs despite it's shown as Unregistered. When we try to send push to the token, we got an Unregistered error so we remove that token from our server. However, later we would receive an add token request from the client with the same token we just removed, and when we try to send to the token it returns Unregistered again so we remove the token again. This happened 3 times for a user in an hour. The identifierForVendor remains the same for all the requests. We also owns the client and I've checked client code that it's sending the token it received from didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken to the server.

Questions for AlarmKit
We are so interested in AlarmKit which is presented at WWDC25. While we planning our app using AlarmKit, We had a few questions come to mind and were hoping you could provide some clarity. Please excuse the rather long list of questions, as we don't currently have a device available to test these features ourselves. System Actions Related Is there a limit to the number of alarms that can be scheduled using AlarmKit? Are alarms scheduled with AlarmKit persistent across device reboots? When an alarm is dismissed (either by swiping or pressing the power button), can our app detect this action and execute code in response? Can we control the behavior of the physical Lock Screen buttons when an AlarmKit alarm is active, for instance, to trigger a snooze action? Does AlarmKit function correctly during Do Not Disturb or Low Power Mode? What is the expected behavior when an alarm from our app (using AlarmKit) overlaps with an alarm from another app that also uses AlarmKit? Which one is going to get its priority? Thank you for your help. Sincerely

Push Live Activity not showing up
This is in an iOS Simulator running iOS 18.2 I send a start live activity push notification from the Push Notifications Console on icloud.developer.apple.com. When checking the console.log output it seems to receive the message, yet the activity does not appear in the dynamic island. AlarmKit alarm UI strings are lost after updating OS
I have a working AlarmKit app, but I've noticed that after any iOS update (e.g. the 26.0.1 update from a few days ago), my scheduled alarms seem to lose their UI strings, so instead of the Stop button saying "Stop", it says "alarm_ui_stop_button" (which is my localization key for the button text). If I delete the alarm and re-add it, then it works again... until the next software update. It seems like OS updates are interfering with the link between scheduled alarms and app localization strings, which I believe are dynamically looked up at alarm time (not at configuration time). I am settings the strings in the standard way like this: AlarmManager.AlarmConfiguration( schedule: .fixed(date), attributes: AlarmAttributes<SDAlarmMetadata>( presentation: AlarmPresentation( alert: AlarmPresentation.Alert( title: "alarm_ui_title", stopButton: .init(text: "alarm_ui_stop_button", textColor: .yellow, systemImageName: "xmark") ) ), metadata: SDAlarmMetadata(title: title, subtitle: subtitle), tintColor: .yellow ), sound: .default ) Has anyone else noticed this or found a workaround? I guess I could use localization keys that are identical to the desired text, but this would only work for one language.
