Is there a way to hide the 'Save to another device' option during iOS WebAuthn registration?
Hello, I am currently implementing a biometric authentication registration flow using WebAuthn. I am using ASAuthorizationPlatformPublicKeyCredentialRegistrationRequest, and I would like to know if there is a way to hide the "Save to another device" option that appears during the registration process. Specifically, I want to guide users to save the passkey only locally on their device, without prompting them to save it to iCloud Keychain or another device. If there is a way to hide this option or if there is a recommended approach to achieve this, I would greatly appreciate your guidance. Also, if this is not possible due to iOS version or API limitations, I would be grateful if you could share any best practices for limiting user options in this scenario. If anyone has experienced a similar issue, your advice would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

App Attest development server (data-development.appattest.apple.com) returns 403 for CBOR attestation request
Hi, I’m currently implementing App Attest attestation validation on the development server. However, I’m receiving a 403 Forbidden response when I POST a CBOR-encoded payload to the following endpoint: curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/cbor" --data-binary @payload.cbor 'https://data-development.appattest.apple.com' Here’s how I’m generating the CBOR payload in Java: Map<String, Object> payload = new HashMap<>(); payload.put("attestation", attestationBytes); // byte[] from DCAppAttestService payload.put("clientDataHash", clientDataHash); // SHA-256 hash of the challenge (byte[]) payload.put("keyId", keyIdBytes); // Base64-decoded keyId (byte[]) payload.put("appId", TEAM_ID + "." + BUNDLE_ID); // e.g., "ABCDE12345.com.example.app" ObjectMapper cborMapper = new ObjectMapper(new CBORFactory()); byte[] cborBody = cborMapper.writeValueAsBytes(payload); I’m unsure whether the endpoint is rejecting the payload format or if the endpoint itself is incorrect for this stage. I’d appreciate clarification on the following: 1. Is https://data-development.appattest.apple.com the correct endpoint for key attestation in a development environment? 2. Should this endpoint accept CBOR-encoded payloads, or is it only for JSON-based assertion validation? 3. Is there a current official Apple documentation that lists: • the correct URLs for key attestation and assertion validation (production and development), • or any server-side example code (e.g., Java, Python) for handling attestation/validation on the backend? So far, I couldn’t find an official document that explicitly describes the expected HTTP endpoints for these operations. If there’s a newer guide or updated API reference, I’d appreciate a link. Thanks in advance for your help.

Empty userID for cross-platform attestation with Android
I've come across strange behavior with the userID property on the returned credential from a passkey attestation. When performing a cross-device passkey assertion between iOS and Android by scanning the generated QR code on my iPhone with an Android device the returned credential object contains an empty userID. This does not happen when performing an on device or cross-device assertion using two iPhones. Is this expected behavior, or is there something I'm missing here? I couldn't find any more information on this in the documentation. iOS Version: 26.0.1, Android Version: 13

Apple Attestation unknownSystemFailure error
Hi, I’ve added attestation to my app, and everything worked as expected during setup. However, after deployment, I noticed some unknownSystemFailure entries in the production logs on New Relic. Could you help me understand what typically causes this error? The documentation suggests issues such as failing to generate a token. What scenarios could lead to that?

Apple login returns undefined
Issue with passport-apple: req.user Returning Undefined Data & Callback URL Issue I am facing an issue with passport-apple where, after successful authentication, the callback function does not receive the expected user data. Instead, req.user contains undefined values, and there seems to be an issue with the callback URL handling. Steps to Reproduce I have configured passport-apple with the following strategy: passport.use( new AppleStrategy( { clientID: process.env.APPLE_CLIENT_ID, teamID: process.env.APPLE_TEAM_ID, keyID: process.env.APPLE_KEY_ID, privateKeyLocation: path.join(__dirname, 'Auth.p8'), callbackURL: process.env.APPLE_CALLBACK_URL, scope: ['name', 'email'], passReqToCallback: true }, async (req, accessToken, refreshToken, idToken, profile, done) => { try { const decoded = jwt.decode(idToken); const user = { id: decoded?.sub || null, email: decoded?.email || null, name: profile?.name?.firstName || 'Unknown' }; const userApp = await authController.handleAppleAuth(user.email, accessToken, refreshToken); done(null, userApp); } catch (error) { return done(error); } } ) ); Observed Behavior Apple login succeeds, and an existing user is found in the database. However, req.user contains undefined values after authentication. The callback URL does not seem to function correctly, leading to potential misrouting or incomplete authentication flow. Expected Behavior req.user should contain the authenticated user's ID, email, and name. The callback URL should properly handle the authentication response. Actual Behavior req.user contains undefined values instead of valid user data, and the callback URL handling seems to be incorrect. Log Output: { id: '001412.13cccc5062074c35833683f6f0bcf5f6.1212', email: 'xyz@somemail.com', name: 'Unknown' } user checking redirectionn [Function: next] 📍 Processing Apple callback 📍 Authentication successful for user: { id: undefined, email: undefined } { id: undefined, email: undefined, firstName: undefined, lastName: undefined, subscriptionStatus: undefined }

The login button that was originally supposed to show the Apple ID sign-in option inexplicably displayed the DiDi app icon instead.
"Our app has absolutely no integration with DiDi login. We only integrate WeChat, QQ, carrier, and Apple ID login, and all related login entry icons are local resources. On an iPhone 16 Pro Max device with iOS system version 18.7, there was one isolated incident where the Apple ID login entry icon mysteriously changed to the DiDi app icon. What could be the possible iOS system-level causes for this?"

Webview In-App Browser Microsoft Login Redirection Not Working
Hello, We received a rejection on one of our IOS applications because we were doing Microsoft MSAL login through the user's browser. The representative recommended that we use Webview to do in-app logins. However when we tried to handle the custom app uri redirection (looking like myapp://auth/), Webview does not seem to send the user back to the application. Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks!

How to update the lock icon and text on the initial unlock Screen with SFAutorizationPluginView.
Step1. Update system.login.screensaver authorizationdb rule to use “authenticate-session-owner-or-admin”( to get old SFAutorizationPluginView at Lock Screen ). Here I will use my custom authorization plugin. Step 2. Once the rule is in place, logout and login, now click on Apple icon and select “Lock Screen”. Is there a way programmatically to update the Lock Icon and the test getting displayed on the first Unlock screen? When I write a custom authorisation plug-in, I am getting control of the text fields and any consecutive screen I add from there on. But all I want is to update the lock icon and text fields on 1st unlock display itself. Can you please suggest how I can achieve this? Here is the screenshot with marked areas I am looking control for.

Gathering required information for troubleshooting Sign in with Apple authorization and token requests
Hi, Before I begin my investigation, I want to explain our code-level support process for issues related to Sign in with Apple—as the issue you’re reporting may be the result of any of the following: An error in your app or web service request. A configuration issue in your Developer Account. An internal issue in the operation system or Apple ID servers. To ensure the issue is not caused by an error within your app or web service request, please review TN3107: Resolving Sign in with Apple response errors to learn more about common error causes and potential solutions when performing requests. If the technote does not help identify the cause of the error, I need more information about your app or web services to get started. To prevent sending sensitive JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) in plain text, you should create a report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below. Additionally, if I determine the error is caused by an internal issue in the operating system or Apple ID servers, the appropriate engineering teams have access to the same information and can communicate with you directly for more information, if needed. Please follow the instructions below to submit your feedback. Gathering required information for troubleshooting Sign in with Apple authorization and token requests For issues occurring with your native app, perform the following steps: Install the Accounts/AuthKit profile on your iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, or visionOS device. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, or visionOS device. Create a report in Feedback Assistant, and ensure your feedback contains the following information: the primary App ID or Bundle ID the user’s Apple ID, email address, and/or identity token the sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue the timestamp of when the issue was reproduced screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional) For issues occurring with your web service, ensure your feedback contains the following information: the primary App ID and Services ID the user’s Apple ID, email address, and/or identity token the failing request, including all parameter values, and error responses (if applicable) the timestamp of when the issue was reproduced (optional) screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional) Important: If providing a web service request, please ensure the client secret (JWT) has an extended expiration time (exp) of at least ten (10) business days, so I have enough time to diagnose the issue. Additionally, if your request requires access token or refresh tokens, please provide refresh tokens as they do not have a time-based expiration time; most access tokens have a maximum lifetime of one (1) hour, and will expire before I have a chance to look at the issue. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above (for your native app or web service) is included in your feedback. Failure to provide the requested information will only delay my investigation into the reported issue within your Sign in with Apple client. After your submission to Feedback Assistant is complete, please respond in your existing Developer Forums post with the Feedback ID. Once received, I can begin my investigation and determine if this issue is caused by an error within your client, a configuration issue within your developer account, or an underlying system bug. Cheers, Paris X Pinkney |  WWDR | DTS Engineer

Sign In With Apple not Removable by Users
I've just implemented Sign-In-With-Apple and everything is working perfectly, but my app seems to be in some strange state where users are unable to remove it from the Sign-In-With-Apple section of their settings. Things I've tried: -- Deleting from Mac. (It just stays in the list) -- Deleting from the iPhone (It stays in the list) -- Deleting from account.apple.com (same issue) -- I've noticed in the browser inspector tools I receive a 200 on the DELETE request, but the app remains. -- Multiple users Also have tried: -- Revoking the token through the REST API -- I get an email saying the token has been revoked, but it's still working -- Same code, different app id (works fine!) It seems like maybe my app is in some sort of weird state? Has anyone come across this before?

Phone heating problem after update iOS 26.0 (23A5297m)
As I had mentioned earlier, I was facing two issues after the initial update, but I’m happy to inform you that both of those issues have now been resolved. However, after updating to iOS 26.0 (23A5297m), I’ve started experiencing a new issue related to overheating. Since yesterday, my iPhone has been getting extremely hot while charging. It also became very hot after clicking just a few photos. The same heating issue occurred again today during charging. This problem only started after the latest update. Kindly look into this issue and advise on how to resolve it.

App Attest attestationData request fails with 400 Bad Request (no X-Request-ID)
Hello Apple Team We are integrating App Attest with our backend and seeing a 400 Bad Request response when calling the attestation endpoint. The issue is that the response does not include an X-Request-ID or JSON error payload with id and code, which makes it hard to diagnose. Instead, it only returns a receipt blob. Request Details URL: https://data-development.appattest.apple.com/v1/attestationData Request Headers: Authorization: eyJraWQiOiI0RjVLSzRGV1JaIiwidHlwIjoiSldUIiwiYWxnIjoiRVMyNTYifQ.eyJpc3MiOiJOOVNVR1pNNjdRIiwiZXhwIjoxNzU3MDUxNTYwLCJpYXQiOjE3NTcwNDc5NjB9.MEQCIF236MqPCl6Vexg7RcPUMK8XQeACXogldnpuiNnGQnzgAiBQqASdbJ64g58xfWGpbzY3iohvxBSO5U5ZE3l87JjfmQ Content-Type: application/octet-stream Request Body: (Binary data, logged as [B@59fd7d35) Response Status: 400 Bad Request Response Headers: Date: Fri, 05 Sep 2025 04:52:40 GMT x-b3-traceid: 4c42e18094022424 x-b3-spanid: 4c42e18094022424 Response Body (truncated): "receipt": h'308006092A864886F70D01070... Problem The response does not include X-Request-ID. The response does not include JSON with id or code. Only a receipt blob is returned. Questions Can the x-b3-traceid be used by Apple to trace this failed request internally? Is it expected for some failures to return only a receipt blob without X-Request-ID? How should we interpret this error so we can handle it properly in production? Thanks in advance for your guidance.

SecPKCS12Import fails in Tahoe
We are using SecPKCS12Import C API in our application to import a self seigned public key certificate. We tried to run the application for the first time on Tahoe and it failed with OSStatus -26275 error. The release notes didn't mention any deprecation or change in the API as per https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-26-release-notes. Are we missing anything? There are no other changes done to our application.

Sending to Private Relay Email using amazon ses not working
Hello Developers, I have ran into a problem while sending mail to apple private relay email. We have built a mobile application where user can sign up through apple and they can sign up using hide-my-email feature. Which provides private relay address for us. Now we want to communicate with them using private relay mail address. The technology we are using to send emails are amazon SES, have done SPF, DMIK, DMARC and added domains in apple identity services for mail communication, passed an SPF check as well. But still mail is not getting delivered what am i doing wrong or apple doesn't support third party apps for sending emails to private relay? Is there any other way to achieve this please let me know Using the same body as attached in image is working fine for rest emails.

Apple Sign in Freeze
I was experiencing a weird sign in error when using apple sign in with my app and wanted to put it here for anyone else who might experience it in the future, and so apple can make this requirement more clear. I was using CloudKit and apple sign in. If you are not using both this probably does not apply to you. Every time I would go to sign in in the iOS simulator I would enter my password, hit "sign in", and everything just froze. The very odd reason for this is if you are using iCloudKit and apple sign in you need to go to specifically the "identifiers" in the "Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" menu (https://developer.apple.com/account/resources/identifiers/list). And from there you specifically need an App ID Configuration with apple sign in enabled. From there you have to have the same exact bundle identifier in Xcode under project settings(not an upper tab just click your project in the left panel). And that should allow you to both pass validation and have your sign in work. Hope this helps!
