Hey everyone,
After installing iOS 26 beta, I started noticing unexpected behavior in our input event handlers.
Specifically, when users type into an field, event.target.value is always an empty string — but only when the JS file is loaded from a specific domain (e.g., t1.daumcdn.net). The exact same code works perfectly when hosted on other domains like t2.daumcdn.net or search1.daumcdn.net.
👉 I created a demo here:
🔗 https://codepen.io/bzasklcu-the-sans/pen/rNXogxL
The scripts loaded from each domain are 100% identical (apart from the top-level selector). Before iOS 26 beta, this worked fine.
I suspect this is related to ITP or some new cross-origin behavior in Safari, but I’d love to know if anyone else is running into this — or if someone knows a workaround.
Thanks!

Hello Community,
My application was rejected by Apple App Review, citing Guideline 4.7 and "non-embedded," which I believe is incorrect. All transactions are signed and sent directly through the app with explicit user permission. Additionally, there's an issue with min apps where users can access the functionality via a browser to interact with the service. This feature has been part of my old application and hasn't changed in the new update. It’s the same functionality as used by popular wallets like
Metamask
Uniswap
Coinbase
Which also employ web3 technology.
Over the past two weeks, I've tried to communicate with Apple's support team but have been ignored or received only generic rejection emails. This has left me frustrated and concerned about the time and resources I’ve invested in developing and supporting this app.
Could you please help me find a solution? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Hello there,
back in the old WebKit API there was the WKDownloadDelegate to handle download actions in WebViews. I was wondering how to handle download actions within the new WebKit in SwiftUI. Is there anything to use already or are there workarounds to handle downloads?
Greetings,
Thorben
Hi, it seems that with iOS26 the system displays two entries in the screentime report for apps that use a WKWebView: one for the app itself and one for the website that was displayed in the app. We don't see this behaviour in iOS18.7.
I'm reseaching how to disable the recording for the webviews in one of our apps (written in Swift with UIKit).
The STWebpageController looked promising, especially the field suppressUsageRecording, but the whole class is poorly documented.
We initialized it with the bundle identifier of the app and set the url of the wkwebview as the url in STWebpageController. It looks a bit like this:
webView = WKWebView(frame: .zero, configuration: config)
view.addSubview(webView)
//setup STWebpageController
webpageController = STWebpageController()
do {
try webpageController!.setBundleIdentifier(bundleIdentifier)
} catch{
}
webpageController!.suppressUsageRecording = true
addChild(webpageController!)
view.addSubview(webpageController!.view)
webpageController!.view.frame = view.frame
webpageController!.didMove(toParent: self)
//load url in webView
let request = URLRequest(url: url, cachePolicy: .reloadIgnoringLocalCacheData)
webview.load(request)
webpageController?.url = request.url
This has no effect on the recorded screentime for the webview inside our app - we still see the same time for the container app and the included webview.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Heiko

We would like to confirm the unsubscribe flow related to recurring payment processing.
When a user unsubscribes, does your system send any notification to us?
If no notification is provided, we will not be able to detect the unsubscribe event and will continue to send recurring payment requests to the gateway periodically. Would this cause any issues?
We would appreciate it if you could share the specific unsubscribe flow with us.
Thank you in advance for your support.
The new WebView implementation in *OS 26 versions is a very valuable addition to the SwiftUI toolset. I was experimenting with it and was wondering how to implement a Pull To Refresh. While this was easily achievable with the "old" WKWebView I was not able to find an API to implement, for example, a page reload when the user uses a pull to refresh gesture.
I tried to attach to a .refreshable(_:) modifier to the WebView but without success.
Is there an official API for that or should maybe .refreshable(_:) already work and it's just a bug or is it simply not yet supported?
Here is a minimal example I was trying but didn't succeed:
struct ContentView: View {
@State private var page = WebPage()
var body: some View {
NavigationStack {
WebView(page)
.refreshable {
page.reload()
}
}
}
}
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
We would appreciate it if you could provide the detailed flow of recurring payments and the unsubscribe process using the Apple Pay JS API, specifically in cases where the PSP decrypts the Apple Pay token before sending it to the payment gateway.
Thank you very much for your kind assistance.
I have a simple Safari extension for iOS.
In its popup, I want a button that will open the app via a universal link.
I have this kind-of working, except that Safari opens the actual online destination of the link with a banner at the top saying "Open in the XXXX app" and an OPEN button.
What do I have to do to go directly to the app?
More generally, I know that if I copy-and-paste a universal link into the Safari address bar, Safari does the same thing - but it does go directly to the app from an <a href="...."> link.
In my app extension JavaScript, I set window.location. Presumably this is too similar to pasting into the address bar.
Is there some alternative to setting window.location that is more like clicking on a link and will go directly to the universal link's app?
Thanks.
The extension popups don't seem to support the dark mode media query.
The only way the query gets detected is when a color-scheme is added:
<meta name="color-scheme"content="light dark">
Hello everyone,
We've had our app rejected twice under Guideline 3.2.2 regarding charitable donations, and we're seeking clarification on the correct implementation. We've read the guidelines but want to confirm the technical approach with the community's experience.
The Rejection Reason:
Apple states: "We still noticed that your app includes the ability to collect charitable donations within the app..." They specify that since we are not an approved nonprofit, we must use one of the alternatives, primarily: "provide a link to your website that launches the default browser or SFSafariViewController for users to make a donation."
Our Current (Rejected) Implementation:
User taps a "Help" button in our native app.
A native modal appears inside our app where the user enters their donation amount and email address for the receipt.
The user clicks "Donate," which then opens an SFSafariViewController to our website's payment page (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). The amount and email are passed as URL parameters to pre-fill the form.
Our Questions for the Community:
Is the issue solely the fact that we have a native modal for data entry? We understand we cannot process the payment in-app, but we thought collecting the intent (amount, email) was acceptable before handing off to Safari.
What is the definitive, compliant flow?
Option A: Should the "Help" button do nothing more than open an SFSafariViewController to a generic donations landing page on our website (https://ourwebsite.com/donate), with no data pre-filled? The user must then navigate and enter all information on the website itself.
Option C: The rejection also mentions SMS. Has anyone had success implementing a "Text-to-Donate" link instead of a web flow?
Wording: The button in our app currently says "Donate". Should this be changed to a more passive call to action like "Visit Website to Donate" to make it absolutely clear the transaction is external?
We want to ensure our next submission is successful. Any insight, especially from developers who have successfully navigated this exact rejection, would be immensely helpful.
Thank you.
Dear Apple Developer Support,
I’m developing a Chromium-based iOS browser and want to open the Safari settings page (Settings → Apps→ Safari) like Chrome’s “Import data from Safari” feature, where clicking “Go to settings” opens the Safari settings page.
To reproduce this behavior in Chrome:
1.In Chrome, search “Import password from Safari.”
2.Restart Chrome.
3.Go to Chrome → Settings → Safari import → Import to Chrome → Go to settings.
4.You will see it opens Settings → Apps → Safari.
Please see the attached file for steps to trigger this feature in Chrome.
My attempt with App-Prefs:root=SAFARI only opens the Settings main page ,Is there a public API to open the Safari settings page directly?
Look forward to your reply,many thanks
I have a website I’m working on that uses WordPress and element mentor pro. Basically everything is custom HTML in individual containers and custom CSS for each page.
The problem that I’m running into is there needs to be a pop-up and the easiest way to do that is just use the element or proper pop-ups however, the overlay is not extending into the safe areas on the bottom or top notch. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to fix this, and I cannot get it to work. I’ve tried having CSS in every imaginable way to get it to extend the overlay..
The other issue is for this website there is no header. It’s just a container that’s the hero content and for some reason that also will not extend into the top-notch safe area. It extends to the bottom notch just fine but not the top notch and there’s just a white bar there where I prefer it be the background gradient that I have set up for the hero however, nothing I do will get it to push into that top notch safe area either.
Hoping someone else had this issue and can help me out

MacOS: 12 ( Monterrey )
Safari: 17.6
Demo Site: https://applepaydemo.apple.com/
At the bottom where the Apple Pay button should appear, I see a warning something like "This browser doesn't support Apple Pay, please use safari" along with a link to requirements for apple pay.
All the requirements are fulfilled, OS and Safari's version are above the minimum required.
Link was opened in Safari.
And the other thing is if I open the same site in Chrome, I can see the apple pay button and when I click on it a QR appears which is the expected behaviour.
How to resolve this?
Hello all,
As you may know, the company ProofPoint is an Apple partner, and is engaged (I think) to reduce misuse of icloud emails.
We have two servers solely set up for our web-app, which is a specialised forum for apartment owners.
The new servers were established about the same time, with the same provider, with clean new IP addresses - and as mentioned above, are only used for this web-app.
During a testing phase a YEAR ago, we became aware that our in-house icloud emails weren't receiving notifications via the app, and further investigations revealed that the cause was that ProofPoint had placed a block on that server's IP.
We immediately, via their website form initiated a Support Ticket, which, the site indicated was lodged, BUT we have never received any response to that Ticket, nor have we received any response to four subsequent Tickets we initiated - nothing. In over a year!!
Yesterday, we contacted Apple support, but the devices area of support is the main section and they said it wasn't an issue they could assist with.
Some relevant matters:
SPF: DKIM: DMARC:
are, I believe all configured correctly (and Gmail gives a PASS to all of them).
The IP is not blacklisted by any list we are aware of.
Our other server's IP isn't blocked by ProofPoint.
So, literally at wits end, I'm reaching out to the developer subscribers here to see if they have any suggestions for us.
We currently are unable to accept any new subscriber that is using an icloud email address, and that's an absurd situation to be in.
Surely we don't have to go to the trouble and inconvenience of obtaining a new IP because of this!!! But when we can't get ANY response to the Support Tickets, it's really hard.
Thanks

WebAuthn can be used in Safari, but when using it with WKWebView, you need to set the default browser definition (com.apple.developer.web-browser). Is this correct?
Also, is it possible that the terms of use will change or that it will no longer be available in WKWebView in the future?

Hi,
when I display an HTML page with a on Safari iOS, I get a nice UI. Great! At the first look I see a video frame with an arrow-in-a-circle button in the middle. Very nice. I click on the arrow and I get a fullscreen view while the video begins to play. I watch the video then I pause it then I click on the top-left x button. So I go back to my html page and the video is perfectly there as it was before.
But, there is an annoying new detail. The video frame is really dark, it still presents all the controls and a "different" arrow button to play it again. In other words that nice video-frame, that nice picture, is not longer visible on the page. That nice page with nice pictures has now an almost-black rectangle. Too bad.
Sure I can click on the video (outside the controls) then the controls and the black overlaying frame disappear. I can see that nice picture again. Finally. Well, but the arrow-in-a-circle button to play the video disappeared. Now the user cannot longer understand that's a video to play. It looks just like any other pictures to admire statically.
Is any way to get the previous first look of the video? The one clear, with the current frame and the arrow-in-a-circle look?
I have a business scenario where I want to guide users to Safari and open a Safari extension. How can I open Safari from my app and navigate to a specific webpage?

Hello,
I’m working on a cross-origin WebAuthn implementation where a parent page embeds an iframe from a different origin to perform authentication. According to the WebAuthn Level 3 spec (Section 7.1.1), when crossOrigin is true, the clientDataJSON may include topOrigin—but Safari does not seem to populate this field.
Observed Behavior:
Chrome/Firefox: Include topOrigin in clientDataJSON when crossOrigin: true.
Safari (macOS/iOS): Omits topOrigin even though crossOrigin is correctly set to true.
Example clientDataJSON from Safari:
{
"type": "webauthn.get",
"challenge": "...",
"origin": "https://iframe-origin.example.com",
"crossOrigin": true
// Missing `topOrigin` (expected: parent origin)
}
Questions:
Is this an intentional omission in Safari for privacy/security reasons?
Are there specific requirements (e.g., HTTP headers, permissions policies) needed for Safari to expose topOrigin?
Is there a known workaround to reliably obtain the top-level origin in cross-origin WebAuthn flows?
System Info:
Version 18.4 (20621.1.15.11.10)
OS: Sequoia Version 18.4 (20621.1.15.11.10)
Reproduction Steps:
Parent page (https://parent.example.com) embeds an iframe (https://webauthn-rp.example.com).
The iframe calls navigator.credentials.get() with a WebAuthn challenge.
Safari returns clientDataJSON with crossOrigin: true but no topOrigin.
Code Snippet (iframe):
const credential = await navigator.credentials.get({
publicKey: {
challenge: new Uint8Array(/* ... */),
rpId: 'webauthn-rp.example.com',
allowCredentials: [],
hints: [],
userVerification: "preferred",
}
});
console.log(JSON.parse(atob(credential.response.clientDataJSON)));
Has anyone encountered this? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
