Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues
Hi, You're here because you've had issues with your implementation of In-App Provisioning Extensions for Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification. To prevent sending sensitive credentials in plain text, create a new report in Feedback Assistant to share the details requested below with the appropriate log profiles installed. Gathering Required Information for Troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification Issues While troubleshooting Apple Pay In-App Provisioning or In-App Verification, it is essential that the issuer is able to collect logs on their device and check those logs for error message. This is also essential when reporting issues to Apple. To gather the required data for your own debugging as well as reporting issues, please perform the following steps on the test device: Install the Apple Pay and Wallet profiles on your iOS or watchOS device. If the issue occurs on Mac, continue to Step 2. Reproduce the issue and make a note of the timestamp when the issue occurred, while optionally capturing screenshots or video. Gather a sysdiagnose on the same iOS or watchOS device, or on macOS. Create a Feedback Assistant report with the following information: The bundle IDs App bundle ID Non-UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) UI app extension bundle ID (if applicable) The serial number of the device. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > Serial Number (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > Serial Number. The SEID (Secure Element Identifier) of the device, represented as a HEX encoded string. For iOS and watchOS: Open Settings > General > About > SEID (tap and hold to copy). For macOS: Open the Apple () menu > About This Mac > System Report > NVMExpress > Serial Number. The sysdiagnose gathered after reproducing the issue. The timestamp (including timezone) of when the issue was reproduced. The type of provisioning failure (e.g., error at Terms & Conditions, error when adding a card, etc.) The issuer/network/country of the provisioned card (e.g., Mastercard – US) Last 4 digits of the FPAN Last 4 digits of the DPAN (if available) Was this test initiated from the Issuer App? (e.g., yes or no) The type of environment (e.g., sandbox or production) Screenshots or videos of errors and unexpected behaviors (optional). Important: From the logs gathered above, you should be able to determine the cause of the failure from PassbookUIService, PassKit or PassKitCore, and by filtering for your SEID or bundle ID of your app or app extensions in the Console app. Submitting your feedback Before you submit to Feedback Assistant, please confirm the requested information above is included in your feedback. Additionally, if the error is something we need to investigate further, the appropriate engineering teams also have access to the same information and can communicate with you directly within Feedback Assistant for more information, as needed. Integrating Apple Pay into an HTML inline frame (iframe) on your website
iOS 16 and earlier On iOS 16 and earlier, Apple Pay on the Web required Safari—and all interactions with the Apple Pay API to come from the parent/top level page. In order to facilitate the Apple Pay button in an HTML inline frame (iframe), there will need to be cross frame communication between the child and parent pages. Cross frame communication should be secure and robust, therefore the use of postMessage for this purpose is recommended. The expectation is for all communication with Apple Pay to occur from the parent page, so the iframe must relay all Apple Pay related events to the parent to handle. Some examples: Apple Pay availability: The parent calls applePayCapabilities, then sends the message of the response to the iframe, which then uses the value to toggle the visibility of the Apple Pay button. Apple Pay session: The iframe receives an onclick() event when the Apple Pay button is clicked and sends the message to the parent (providing details about the transaction). The parent create the payment request to obtain the session validation URL, and eventually receive session credentials and invokes completeMerchantValidation() to prevent the payment sheet. After the payment is authorized by the Payment Service Provider (PSP), the parent either: Redirects the parent page to a payment success page; or Sends a message to the iframe to complete the transaction flow itself. iOS 17 and later On IOS 17 and later, the iframe HTML element should include the allow="payment" attribute, which should facilitate the cross frame communications instead of needing a dedicated JavaScript library. This means all of the Apple Pay code/calls can reside in the iframe page—which is typically a hosted page from a Payment Service Provider (PSP), all the parent page—typically a merchant—has to do is add the attribute mentioned above to the iframe element. Important: Regardless of the iOS version, the PSP/merchant always needs to make sure the parent page domain is the one registered in the Developer portal, and used in the request to generate a merchant session via ApplePaySession. How to use Extended Virtual Addressing and Increased Memory Limit services correctly?
During the development of our 3D game project, we encountered high memory usage requirements. To address this, we enabled Apple’s Extended Virtual Addressing (EVA) and Increased Memory Limit services. We have confirmed that both services were enabled in the developer backend as well as in Xcode, and we also used updated development and distribution certificates when building the app. However, in our validation process, it seems that EVA and Increased Memory Limit are not taking effect — the game still experiences memory overflow and crashes. Could you please advise: The correct steps to properly use Extended Virtual Addressing and Increased Memory Limit; How we can confirm whether these services are functioning as expected?

Approve with Side Button' is not displayed
When accessing https://applepaydemo.apple.com/payment-request-api, the "Approve with Side Button" prompt is displayed, but it does not appear when using our test domain. I implemented the Payment Request API based on the sample source code from the following URL. On an iPhone device, the Apple Pay payment screen is displayed, but the "Approve with Side Button" icon below the amount does not appear, and instead a spinning loading icon is shown continuously. Apple Pay
We are an acquirer/payment provider offering Apple Pay. Our merchants use our hosted checkout to accept payments. After a user pays with Apple Pay on our checkout, the Wallet transaction record shows our checkout domain as the payee. We would like it to display the merchant’s brand/name so users can recognize or contact the merchant. Is there any parameter or configuration that controls what Wallet shows as the payee? For example, can this be set via a specific field/parameter, or is it strictly derived from the Merchant ID’s display name (or other Apple Pay configuration)? What is the correct approach for a PSP/acquirer to have the merchant’s brand shown in Wallet transaction record? Additional detail: The field in question is the merchant/payee name shown in the Apple Wallet receipt—directly under the transaction amount at the top of the receipt, and again beneath the “Total” line.

Renewal of merchant Domains fails and redirects to main page without errors
Hello we are trying to renew our certificates. We are trying to extend the dates of verified domains following the docs https://developer.apple.com/documentation/applepayontheweb/maintaining-your-environment#Renew-Your-Domain-Verification and configure our server with https://developer.apple.com/documentation/ApplePayontheWeb/setting-up-your-server We've downloaded the apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.txt and update it on their respective locations, click 'ok' button but we get redirected to the main page of the information of the merchant, and it shows the domains without the extending period of time. No popup showing what has failed or what could be the reason of this error, we only get a redirection to the main page.

Third party payment service
Hi everyone, I have a question regarding App Store approval. In my country, Apple In-App Purchases are not supported, so for users in unsupported regions we need to use a third-party payment provider. For countries where In-App Purchases are supported, we plan to use Apple IAP. Could you please advise on the correct approach to ensure the app complies with App Store guidelines and can be approved?

Issue With Apple Pay Express
We are facing an issue with Apple Pay address details while customers are placing orders on our production site. By default, the following values are being passed during checkout: First Name: ApplePay Last Name: Express Address: ApplePay Street When we manually enter these same details, our validation correctly prevents the order from being placed and displays an appropriate error message. However, on our production site, real customers are still able to successfully place orders with these exact details. Could you please help us understand: How these orders are being allowed to proceed despite the validation? Is this behaviour expected from Apple Pay ? How can we prevent orders from being placed with such placeholder address details? Please let us know if you need any additional information from our side. We have also attached an image showing the address details and the corresponding order number for reference. Thanks in advance for your support.

How can I integrate Apple Pay subscription products?
We have used the ApplePayRecurringRequest parameter required for Apple Pay subscriptions, but during testing the payment, the Apple Pay payment page shown to the user remains the same as the one-time payment page, without any subscription information. Could you please check if there is an issue with our parameters or if there is an issue with the merchantIdentifier being used? iOS Subscriptions in Russia – Is Apple In-App Purchase mandatory or can local providers be used?
Hello, We are working on integrating billing into our dating app, targeted at the Russian market. Our main requirement is to support subscriptions with automatic renewal and cancellation. We understand that, according to App Store Review Guideline, all digital subscriptions should use Apple In-App Purchase (IAP). However, we are unsure how this applies in Russia, where some local regulations may limit the use of non-Russian payment processors, and where not all Russian bank cards are accepted by Apple. Our question is: -For iOS apps in Russia, is it strictly required to use Apple IAP for subscriptions? -Are there any approved exceptions allowing integration with local processors such as Robokassa or YooKassa? -How are other developers currently handling subscriptions for the Russian market? Error generating domain certificate
I’m having an issue verifying a domain for a Merchant ID. I’m implementing Apple Pay on the web for a demo, and I’ve configured the Azure server to match Apple’s requirements for domain verification, such as the TLS configuration, not requiring client certificates, and ensuring there are no redirects. I’ve run tests with OpenSSL and PowerShell and all responses return HTTP/1.1 200 OK. I also tested the URL Apple says it uses to validate the file under .well-known, and it does show the expected result. I already have the Apple Pay Payment Processing Certificate and the Apple Pay Merchant Identity Certificate approved; the only thing missing is the domain verification. I’m not sure what else to test—if you could help me with a possible solution, I’d really appreciate it. (The project is built in .NET 8 and hosted on Azure App Service.)

PayPal integration
Hello, Apologies if this has been asked before but I have a website that takes subscriptions and payments through PayPal. It's a platform where authors can sell ebooks and anyone who purchaes an ebook, the money goes pretty much directly from the buyer's PayPal to the seller PayPal through the use of PayPal Multiparty where my platform acts as a third party that takes a fee. I'm currently building a React-Native app for my website and coming close to needing to integrate payment solutions. As far as I'm aware, Apple only allows Apple Pay payments for IAP and subscriptions? How would this work for my model? Can I integrate PayPal into Apple Pay like I do with my website? If not, what's the alternative?

Apple Pay button not clickable in Safari for some users
Hello, We’re seeing an issue where the Apple Pay button is visible in Safari but not clickable for certain users, while it works normally for others. This happens on our site (https://store-qa2.enphase.com/ ) as well as on other sites for the same affected users. Currently, we display the Apple Pay button based on the following condition: Boolean(window.ApplePaySession) && ApplePaySession.canMakePayments(); For affected users, the button shows up as expected, but it’s not interactive. All users (both affected and unaffected) are on the latest versions of Safari and macOS/iOS. Could someone clarify what additional conditions Safari/Apple Pay requires for the button to be fully functional? And under what circumstances could it be visible but not clickable?

Issue with Test Users in Sandbox Environment Unable to Complete Payment on Apple Pay Demo Page
I am writing regarding an issue I have encountered while attempting to complete a payment using test users created within the Sandbox environment of Apple Pay. The problem persists specifically when trying to make payments through the demo page at https://applepaydemo.apple.com/. Problem Description: When initiating a payment process with either of the following test user accounts. The flow proceeds as follows: The Apple Pay window appears correctly. Processing begins but does not conclude successfully. After processing concludes, there is no prompt for 'Pay with Touch ID'. Additional Information: Device & OS Version: MacOS 15.3.2 Browser & Version: Safari 18.3.1 Real Device or Simulator: Real device used First Occurrence: Before January 1st, 2025 Custom Configurations or Backend Used: No custom configurations or backend modifications are being utilized during interaction with the demo page. Could you please provide assistance in resolving this issue?

HTTP 400 status code
Recently, we completed a merger with our parent company. We are currently integrated with Apple Pay in accordance with the “Apple Pay Payment Processing on the Web” guidelines. Due to the change in the legal entity, we proceeded with the account migration process as outlined below: Creation of a new Apple Developer account and a new Apple Pay Identifier Removal of the Merchant Domain (dc2-web.happy.co.kr) from the existing Identifier Registration of the Merchant Domain (dc2-web.happy.co.kr) under the new Identifier Using the Merchant Domain registered under the new Identifier and the Apple Pay Merchant Identity Certificate issued from the new Identifier, we attempted to obtain an Apple Pay session by sending requests to the following endpoint: https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/startSession However, we are intermittently receiving failure responses with an HTTP 400 status code. With regard to these intermittent failures, we would like to inquire whether there is any propagation delay on Apple’s servers when an Apple Pay Identifier is removed and re-registered under a new account, or if there could be any other possible causes for this behavior. We would appreciate your guidance on this matter.

Could not update App IDs Identifier
We are unable to add/remove Merchant IDs in App IDs identifier profile, after pressing "Edit" button on "Apple Pay Payment Processing" section, then choosing desired Merchant ID to check/uncheck from the available Merchant IDs, then pressing Continue/Save/Confirm buttons - nothing happens, the "Save" button text briefly changes to "Processing" and then back To "Save" and we still have previously enabled Merchant IDs and the Save button is still in enabled state, any help?

PKAddPaymentPassViewController cannot be created in TestFlight build despite entitlement being present
We are integrating Apple Pay In-App Provisioning in our banking application using an external SDK. The provisioning flow works on the iOS Simulator (mock sheet appears), but fails on real devices via TestFlight with the error: internalInconsistency: "PKAddPaymentPassViewController can not be created" Environment: Xcode 16 iOS 18 Real device: iPhone (tested via TestFlight / Distribution build) Card network: Mastercard What we've verified: com.apple.developer.payment-pass-provisioning entitlement is set to YES in our .entitlements file The entitlement is confirmed present in our Development provisioning profile via security cms -D -i embedded.mobileprovision | grep payment-pass → returns <true/> PKAddPaymentPassViewController.canAddPaymentPass() returns true on the device The card is NOT already in Apple Wallet (0 local/remote Secure Element passes) All provisioning data is present and valid (encryptedPayload, authorizationCode, primaryAccountSuffix, cardholderName) The external SDK is configured successfully at app launch Diagnostic logs from TestFlight build: canAddPaymentPass: true Local SE passes: 0 Remote SE passes: 0 suffix: 6165 name: [redacted] encryptedPayload length: 1130 authCode length: 514 scheme: Mastercard Card already in Wallet: false Error: internalInconsistency("PKAddPaymentPassViewController can not be created") Testing matrix: Environment Result Simulator Mock sheet appears (not a real test) Device + Debugger attached PKAddPaymentPassViewController error Device + Debugger detached (Dev build) SDK error 903: "device environment unsafe" TestFlight (Distribution) PKAddPaymentPassViewController cannot be created Questions: Can PKAddPaymentPassViewController fail to be created even when canAddPaymentPass() returns true? Does regenerating the Distribution provisioning profile on Apple Developer Portal resolve cases where entitlements were added after the profile was originally created?
