Age verification again: What does "applicable region" mean wrt isEligibleForAgeFeatures
The documentation for isEligibleForAgeFeatures states: Use this property to determine whether a person using your app is in an applicable region that requires additional age-related obligations for when you distribute apps on the App Store. But what does "region" mean? Is this going to return true if the user has downloaded the app from the US App Store? Or will it go further and geolocate the user and identify them as being within a particular relevant state within the US?

Issues with Family Control API: App Blocking & Screen Time for Multiple Children
We are developing a parental control application in SwiftUI with features like app blocking and screen time management. We are using the Family Control API along with Apple Family Sharing, allowing parents to add multiple children to the family group. We have followed the apple documentation still we are facing following issues: App Blocking Issue: The family picker does not display each child's name separately or their apps individually. Instead, it shows all children's apps together, making it difficult to block apps for a specific child. Screen Time Data Issue: We receive the total screen time usage for all children combined rather than separate screen time data for each child. Syncing Delay: When a new child is added to the Family Sharing group, we are unsure how long it takes for their apps to sync and appear on the parent’s device.

URL(fileURLWithPath:) behavior change in iOS 26 - Tilde (~) in filename causes unexpected path resolution
Environment: Xcode 26 iOS 26 Also tested on iOS 18 (working correctly) Description: I'm experiencing a behavior change with URL(fileURLWithPath:) when the filename starts with a tilde (~) character. On iOS 18, passing a filename like ~MyFile.txt to URL(fileURLWithPath:) treats the tilde as a literal character. However, on iOS 26, the same code resolves the tilde as the home directory, resulting in unexpected output. Minimal Example: let filename = "~MyFile.txt" let url = URL(fileURLWithPath: filename) print(url.lastPathComponent) Expected Result (iOS 18): ~MyFile.txt Actual Result (iOS 26): 924AF0C4-C3CD-417A-9D5F-733FBB8FCF29 The tilde is being resolved to the app's container directory, and lastPathComponent returns the container UUID instead of the filename. Questions: 1. Is this an intentional behavior change in iOS 26? 2. Is there documentation about this change? 3. What is the recommended approach for extracting filename components when the filename may contain special characters like ~? Workaround: Using NSString.lastPathComponent works correctly on both iOS versions: let filename = "~MyFile.txt" let result = (filename as NSString).lastPathComponent // Returns: "~MyFile.txt" ✅ Is this the recommended approach going forward?

Device Activity Reports are returning a blank screen in release mode
There is an inconsistent issue when views are rendered from the Device Activity Report Extension. This issue is noticeable only on release versions and it works fine in debug mode. Around 80% of the times, the Report Views return blank screen and this is only the case when a weekly/monthly filter is used. Although, it works as expected for daily report views. My questions are: How are all the Report Activity Views working fine in debug mode but not in release mode? How the daily activity filter works fine in the release mode but the weekly/monthly filters don't work? Is this because of a memory limit issue in the extension? As of now, I have the family-controls(distribution) entitlement only for the app and for the extensions I only have family-controls(development) entitlement. Do I need to request for family-controls(Distribution) entitlement even for the extensions? I have seen threads on the forum mentioning the blank screen issue associated with the DeviceActivityReport but haven't found a solution to it. Any suggestions/feedback would be of great help, thanks.

Translation framework error.
Hello everyone. I use Translation Framework in my application. During development everything was fine, Translation framework worked well, but after two or three days of using the production version (that was published in AppStore and available for others also!) - my application stopped working. Translation framework gives errors: Error sending 1 paragraphs Error Domain=TranslationErrorDomain Code=16 "Translation failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Translation failed, NSLocalizedFailureReason=Offline models not available for language pair} Failed to translate input 0; returning error: Error Domain=TranslationErrorDomain Code=16 "Translation failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Translation failed, NSLocalizedFailureReason=Offline models not available for language pair} Received unbridged NSError to API, converting to .internalError: Error Domain=TranslationErrorDomain Code=16 "Translation failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Translation failed, NSLocalizedFailureReason=Offline models not available for language pair} Once again - it worked when I developed it, it was released on the AppStore, and suddenly it stopped working!

Is `isEligibleForAgeFeatures` gonna cover the future cities/countries for us?
Does our app need to check the location or can we fully reply on this API to decide whether we wanna comply for the law of places that requires age range information? Looks like it's only covering Texas now..? would it add other places by apple..? And also this API is really hard to test a user in other places, Iike I don't know a user in Brazil gonna return true for false now, but the law in Brazil also requires the age information.

Sharing a JPEG via Action or Share Extension fails in Photos on macOS
We have a Share Extension that fails in Photos on macOS when trying to share a JPEG image for the following reason: From the NSItemProvider we get from the NSExtensionItem.attachments, we try to load the image using loadFileRepresentation(forTypeIdentifier: “public.image”, completionHandler: …). This fails for .jpeg images in the library. There seems to be a mismatch in expected and actual file extension internally. Here is the log: Error copying file type public.image. Error: Error Domain=NSItemProviderErrorDomain Code=-1000 "Cannot load representation of type public.jpeg" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Cannot load representation of type public.jpeg, NSUnderlyingError=0x1527c1a80 {Error Domain=NSItemProviderErrorDomain Code=-1 "Cannot copy file at URL file:///Users/frank/Library/Containers/com.apple.Photos/Data/tmp/TemporaryItems/ShareKit-Exports/7CCFA760-AAC9-42B0-812D-68F051ED1543/F912E593-2BE5-4E70-86AB-7657A40657E5/IMG_3517.jpg." UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Cannot copy file at URL file:///Users/frank/Library/Containers/com.apple.Photos/Data/tmp/TemporaryItems/ShareKit-Exports/7CCFA760-AAC9-42B0-812D-68F051ED1543/F912E593-2BE5-4E70-86AB-7657A40657E5/IMG_3517.jpg., NSUnderlyingError=0x152789670 {Error Domain=NSItemProviderErrorDomain Code=-1 "Cannot create a temporary file. Error: Undefined error: 0" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Cannot create a temporary file. Error: Undefined error: 0}}}}}``` In the specified folder, there is an image, however, it’s named IMG_3517.jpeg, not IMG_3517.jpg. This seems to be a bug in Photo’s item provider implementation. If we use loadObject(ofClass: URL.self, completionHandler: …) instead, we get the correct .jpeg URL in the completion handler.

Our customer's events on calendar are disappeared
Our app provides a calendar that integrates with the default calendar app. Specifically, we use iOS EventKit to perform CRUD operations on calendar data. Recently, we have received reports from users that all of their events have disappeared. However, after reviewing our implementation and logs, we have not been able to identify the cause. Some users have also reported that all data in their default calendar app has disappeared as well. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? To delete an event within our app, users must press the delete button and then confirm the deletion in a dialog. Additionally, it is not possible to delete more than two events at once. We've seen many people in the community discussing a bug where calendar events disappear after updating to iOS 18. If you have any information about when or why this happens, we'd appreciate it if you could share your insights.

After unholding CallKit, the audio does not restore.
In my application, I use CallKit and have supportsHolding = true set. During my phone call, another call comes in (e.g., GSM). I accept the incoming call and put the current call on hold. If I end the active call myself, everything is fine, and CallKit calls the method provider(_ provider: CXProvider, didActivate audioSession: AVAudioSession). However, if the other party ends the call, the second call remains on hold. In the application, the user clicks on unhold, and I notify CallKit that the hold has ended. But in this case, the didActivate method is not called at all. If I try to activate the audio myself after unhold, I receive the error: Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=561017449 "Session activation failed" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Session activation failed} AVAudioSessionErrorInsufficientPriority == NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code: 561017449 What needs to be done for CallKit to activate my audio?

Allowing workaround for FamilyActivityPicker crash
As discussed and acknowledged here, there is a known bug with the FamilyActivityPicker. When a user expands a category that contains enough tokens to exceed the 50mb memory limit, the FamilyActivityPicker crashes. This happens quite frequently for heavy Safari users. An apple engineer mentioned on this thread that WebDomains shown in the picker are present based on the last 30 days of usage data as surfaced by WebKit. Is there any way a user can clear these WebDomains? Either programatically through our app or any other process we can guide them to as a workaround while this issue is getting fixed?

Alarms set with AlarmKit on iOS 26.1 stop ringing after upgrading to iOS 26.2 beta 3 or later
We first discovered this issue in our own product, but we were able to reproduce it even when using Apple’s official demo: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/alarmkit/scheduling-an-alarm-with-alarmkit Reproduction Steps: Set an alarm on iOS 26.1 using AlarmKit. Upgrade the device to iOS 26.2 beta 3 or later. The alarm will no longer ring. Based on our testing, versions prior to 26.2 beta 2 do not exhibit this issue, so it appears that something introduced in beta 3 has caused the regression. The results are as follows: iOS 26.1 → iOS 26.2 beta 2 or earlier: Alarms ring normally iOS 26.1 / iOS 26.2 beta 2 → iOS 26.2 beta 3 / iOS 26.2 RC: Alarms fail to ring iOS 26.2 beta 3 → iOS 26.2 RC: Alarms ring normally This issue is critical. Users currently on iOS 26.1 may experience alarms failing to ring after updating their system, which can cause real-life disruptions (e.g., being late for work). We strongly recommend addressing this as soon as possible. Xcode Version: Version 26.1.1 (17B100) Feedback ID: FB21273655

UserDefaults.didChangeNotification not firing
Hi, I'm currently working on an app made originally for iOS 15. On it, I add an observer on viewDidLoad function of my ViewController to listen for changes on the UserDefault values for connection settings. NotificationCenter.default.addObserver(self, selector: #selector(settingsChanged), name: UserDefaults.didChangeNotification, object: nil) Said values can only be modified on the app's section from System Settings. Thing is, up to iOS 17, the notification fired as expected, but starting from iOS 18, the notification doesn't seem to be sent by the OS. Is there anything I should change in my observer, or any other technique to listen for the describe event? Thanks in advance.

AlarmKit Not Playing Custom Sound or Named System Sounds - iOS 26 beta 4 (23A5297i)
I'm using the new AlarmKit framework to schedule and trigger alarms in my Swift app in iOS 26 beta 4 (23A5297i). I'm trying to customize the alarm sound using a sound file embedded in the app bundle or by referencing known system tones. Problem: No matter what I pass to .named("sound-2"), whether a file bundle url, .named("sound-2.caf"), tried .mp3, .caf & .aiff, or a known iOS system sound like .named("Radar") ("Chimes", etc.), the alarm always plays the default system alert tone. There's no error or warning, but the custom or specified sound is silently ignored. sound: .named("sound-2") Question: What is the correct method or approach to play custom sound / music when Alarm Triggers? What .named("...") expects file name, file Path URL or System sound name? Is there any specific audio file length accepted or specific format? Challenge: The alarm functionality feels incomplete without support for custom sounds. A single default alert tone is often not sufficient to wake up users effectively. Hope it will be fixed in the next iOS updates.

FamilyActivityPicker Crashing / Freezing
Our users report frequent crashes with the FamilyActivityPicker. Since this is a screen controlled by Apple, I'm assuming that there's nothing I can do to prevent these crashes. I'm wondering, though, if there's any way to gracefully handle these crashes? When this happens, the following is printed to the console: [com.apple.FamilyControls.ActivityPickerExtension(1121)] Connection to plugin invalidated while in use. Does anyone know how to handle/catch this error?

Why my App Clip Card can not be opened?
Hello, I have an AppClip technical issue I'd like to ask about: Our Xiaohongshu App (Version 9.14 & Build 9140845 & appid 741292507) was submitted to the App Store for review on December 18th and approved on December 19th, starting a phased rollout. This version was the first to support AppClip functionality, and as of today the app has been fully rolled out, but I still cannot activate the Xiaohongshu App Clip Card using the NFC tag (built-in URL: https://xhslink.com/n/22UG9jlaOfv?sourceid=911). I checked all the configurations of our project's AppClip target (Associated Domains:appclips:xhslink.com), the default experience in the ASC backend (URL: https://appclip.apple.com/id?p=com.xingin.discover.Clip), and the advanced experience (URL: https://xhslink.com/n/Arxpo4IVY9X), and all showed no abnormalities. Furthermore, the default experience URL, after being written with an NFC tag, can be successfully launched by tapping the NFC tag to open the Xiaohongshu App Clip Card, and the Card can also be opened normally in Safari on the phone. However, our advanced experience URL, after being written with an NFC tag, cannot be launched by tapping the Card. Therefore, my question is: Who please can help me check why the Xiaohongshu App Clip Card cannot be launched normally using the advanced experience URL? Thank you very much! My Expectations: My advanced experience URL configured on the ASC platform, such as https://xhslink.com/n/Arxpo4IVY9X, should be recognized and validated by the iOS system when the phone is near the NFC tag and reads https://xhslink.com/n/22UG9jlaOfv?sourceid=911, ultimately triggering the App Clip Card configured in Xiaohongshu's advanced experience settings. Additionally: We have already deployed a large number of NFC tags and other materials in many online stores, and the URL (https://xhslink.com/n/Arxpo4IVY9X) is built-in, and our 9.14 version is fully implemented. However, the newly developed App Clip feature is not working, which is very urgent and I hope Apple can help me find the cause of the problem and how to improve it as soon as possible. Thank you very much!

How to debug Quick Look Preview Extension
When I launch the Quick Look Preview Extension target in Xcode, an app called Quick Look Simulator opens with an almost empty window: Online I read that the Terminal command qlmanage allows to test Quick Look plugins (which I think were an older format for creating Quick Look extensions), but running qlmanage -p /path/to/previewed/file -c public.text -g /path/to/QuickLookPreviewExtension.appex (where QuickLookPreviewExtension.appex is generated by the Xcode build and is located in the DerivedData folder) gives an error Can't get generator at QuickLookPreviewExtension.appex How can I debug a Quick Look Preview Extension?

AgeRange Functionality working on iPhone how to debug on Mac?
I created in my Objective-c project the AgeRange check for a special function. It is working well on an iPhone. Now I used my Mac and added my app to the TestFlight on my macOS Tahoe 26.1 Here it is directly crashing. But how can I debug an Application which is created for iPhone and iPad with Xcode? I cannot use the target myMac when running a debugging mode. So how is the debugging working for such Apps?

Extend Measurement to support inverse units
There are many units which are inverse of standard units, e.g. wave period vs Hz, pace vs speed, Siemens vs Ohms, ... Dimension can be subclassed to create the custom units. How to extend Measurement.converted( to: )? I was looking at somehow using UnitConverter and subclass to something like UnitConverterInverse. Thoughts?

DeviceCheck framework error
We integrated DeviceCheck framework into our app to prevent fraudulent call to our app service around one year ago. Recently, we received a few cases related to this function over Christmas Eve period. Based on the logs we have, it indicated both the following two functions returned errors. But we don't have the exactly errors logged and now we cannot replicate. DCAppAttestService.shared.attestKey() DCAppAttestService.shared.generateAssertion() The other finding we have is some users reporting this issue recently upgraded their devices from iOS 18 to iOS 26. So we are suspecting it's due to either the OS upgrading, or Apple's app attest service degrading. Anyone encountered the similar issues before, or have any idea regarding the root cause? Thanks!
