Ok, so I’ve downloaded iOS 26 for the iPhone and iPad and there are a couple of points bugging me.
Why oh why would somebody think that it was a good idea to remove the ability to scroll through photos in a folder in files?
Where in their tiny minds did they think that opening a photo, viewing said photo, then closing photo to then open the next photo in sequence was a better or more productive way than just swiping left and right?
I mean, seriously!!!
And why the need for a separate Preview app when it worked fine opening files in the Files app?!
I deleted the Preview app from my iPhone to see what difference it would make, but alas it made things worse. Now, because there’s no Preview app, Files wants to open my photos in an image editing app called Afterlite!
I checked settings for the files app, and the only options I have for opening photos are Afterlite (which it’s decided to make default), the Photoshop app, or iMovie!
Does anyone have any ideas how to get photos stored in the Files app to open IN the Files app or at least the Photos app?
Just when I thought they’d come to their senses and sorted out that god awful iOS 18 Photos app, they go and do something like this!
Also, can someone explain to me what the point is of having a month and year view in the Photos app?
When I sort by month and pick a particular month or date in a month, instead of showing just those images taken that month, it just takes you back to the view with ALL of your photos?
Surely if you have thousands of photos on your device and you want to see only photos on a particular date, it would make sense to show only the photos from that date.
Even if it generated automatic albums under the album view for each month and year that would be something!

My swift student challenge submission is an iPad app built in Xcode and I'm planning on selecting the Xcode 26 option for testing in the dropdown provided in the application. Just have to confirm that the run destination for the playground in Xcode will be an iPad simulator right? Recently I have seen many participants post their submission screenshot for iPhone renders so just wanted to confirm the run destination.
Thank you👾
I have raised a support ticket regadring a concern I had with apple developer account. I got a respose via email, asking some more details. After that I have replied to the same mail thread with requested details. But I havent got any respose after that. I would like to is that the correct way of responding to support ticket ? Am I suppose to get the response for the same mail thread , after I reply ? or Every time I have open a new support tikcet ?

A few days ago I installed beta 1 of macOS 26 Tahoe on a spare MacBook Pro 14-inch M4. Everything went well, and it looks okay (well, I don't like it at all, but hey-ho), and I shut it down.
I started it up today, and it rejects my login password every time, then locks my account. When I click the link to "Restart and show password reset options" I'm asked for my Apple ID details, so I enter the correct email and password, then the MBP reboots and I'm back on the login screen with no indication that anything has changed.
Guess I'm stuck now... FB18364657

I’m new to the forums, and I hope this is the right place to ask this question.
Yesterday, a platform called Rork released a new feature in their web‑based app‑building tool. According to their announcement and user comments on X/Twitter, people with no coding experience are now able to generate fully native iOS apps written in Swift and distribute them across Apple’s ecosystem—reportedly without using any Apple hardware.
Some users who already have access to Rork Max claim they were able to create multiple apps within a few hours and successfully submit them to the App Store.
If these claims are accurate, this seems like a significant shift in how native iOS apps can be created and published. I’m curious whether anyone here has insight into:
How this aligns with Apple’s existing App Store Review Guidelines
Whether generating Swift apps without Apple hardware is technically feasible or compliant
Any potential implications for app quality, security, or developer identity requirements
I’d appreciate any clarification or perspective from more experienced developers.
Also, I’m also concerned that this could lead to a surge of very low‑quality apps from people primarily chasing quick revenue. If tools like this make it possible to publish apps with minimal effort or understanding of iOS development, it may have implications for overall App Store quality and review workload. I’m interested in hearing how Apple and experienced developers view this possibility, and whether existing guidelines are equipped to handle a large influx of rapidly generated apps.

I am trying to develop a Watch and iOS app as companion. It is beyond stupid how I can not keep the watch connected to Xcode to develop. I have tried all the so-called tricks.
Why is this so fragile?
The phone is USB connected to my Mac
I have tried turning off the wifi on my Mac and have the phone and watch on the same network. Nada
I have tried just having everything on the same network. The watch is connected maybe 20% of the time.
I have tried creating a hotspot network with my phone. The watch is connected maybe 50% of the time.
This is truly an awful experience. Am I doing something wrong?
Any advice would be grateful.
Hello. I just got my developer account and my legal entity on my account has a mistake. My last name is spelled wrong.
I have sent 3 emails to support about this and for the past week i have zero response to this issue. Can someone advise me on this?
The ability to reach anybody from support is ridiculous for something that we can access only after payment especially.
I even called apple business program with this and person on the phone said they will try to take to the supervisor but its not their department which i of course know but it was worth a shot to call.
What more can i do? I didnt make a mistake when creating my account it was the system that didn’t recognize the letter. Such a stupid and frustrating issue and no response from apple, nada.
how long am i suppose to wait?

Hello! Because the compilers used by different versions of Xcode 26 may be different, and I find that my app may not be able to ensure that all versions of Xcode 26 are successfully compiled. For example, my app can run on Xcode26.3 but will report an error at 26.4 (I have fixed it now). So I want to confirm which version of Xcode the jury uses to run my app, whether it is a known version or the latest version in the future. Thanks!

Can I use external Swift Package Dependencies for the challenge, or will my app just not run as the testing environment is offline? I have a couple dependencies which are crucial to the running of my submission
I've raised a support case with Apple. Is it possible to find my support case within the developer.apple.com website?

Hi, I've seen some apps that can have the widget background truly transparent ( not screenshot, code-level transparent)
How did they do that? Is that allowed to publish in App Store?
Hi everyone,
I’m new to the Apple Developer side of things and I want to make sure I’m handling this correctly.
I hired a freelance iOS developer to build my app. I have my own Apple Developer account (Individual), and I want the app published under my account.
The developer says he needs me to create a Certificate Signing Request (CSR), then he will generate the distribution certificate on his end and send me the .cer file back. From there, he would use that for signing and submitting the app.
My questions:
1. Is this the correct and modern way to handle app signing?
2. Should I instead just add him to my App Store Connect account with Developer access and let him manage signing through Xcode? Dev claims this won’t work, which I haven’t been able to prove or disprove. ChatGPT says it does, but other AI tools says it doesn’t.
3. Is there any risk in sharing certificates like this?
4. What is considered best practice in 2026 for working with freelancers while keeping full control of the account?
My goal is simple:
• The app stays fully under my Apple Developer account.
• I retain long term control.
• The developer can build and submit without needing my Apple ID or password.
I’m not trying to make things complicated, I just want to do this the right way and avoid issues later.
Thanks in advance.

Cannot download FCPX that was purchased few yerars ago on Macbook pro with Tahoe OS beta. App do not show on my downloaded apps
So, I started with the developer beta on Tahoe a couple months ago. I gave the new Apps.app a fair shot.... I HATE it. Finally used a terminal work around to get Launchpad back up and running. Now with the release of the Public Beta and Developer Beta 5, Apple has nerfed the Launchpad.app altogether. Apple, listen to your customers. Yes some people really love spotlight but not everyone wants to scroll through a list of apps as long as my leg because, my PTSD brain won't let me remember the name of the app to type into spotlight. The Launchpad app had a great visual reference for those of us with poor memory function. Bring it back, and let your customers choose which one they want to use.
Hello!!
I wasn't able to find a feedback form anywhere so I'm hoping this could reach the team that made the submission form for the challenge. I was really hoping the form could save our progress. Working on the longer response questions does take time, and it's incredibly frustrating when the site tends to reload, losing all progress and causing me to copy everything over again.
Is anybody using Airbnb's Lottie-ios dependency inside your swift student challenge project?
If yes can u please discuss about how did u approach using it ?
Actually I wanted to use it so I downloaded the official repo maintained by Airbnb from GitHub but the package had too large size so I deleted many part's leaving just src files and some other files as it is and even modified it's package.swift file and finally deleted the .git folder which had been taking way too much space. And now I have been using it as local dependency which I can include it in my .zip submission ( as that's the rule I guess to include the packages our project depends on in our .zip submission file ).
So far there have been no problems, I wanna know am I doing anything wrong here? Can someone advise me ?
I'm encountering an issue with the App Store Connect Analytics API. to download analytics reports, the app crash data is missing for both ONGOING and ONE_TIME_SNAPSHOT reports.
The crash data does appear in the Dashboard, with the numbers greater than 5, so this doesn’t seem to be related to privacy restrictions.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any insights or suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
As of today we seem to continuously get back 21 of the product IDs we have defined when the shop initializes.
This is causing what looks like intermittent bug behavior in our shop. The IDs sent each time are random (not always the same 21). So sometimes they match shop offers and the packs look right and can be bought and sometimes the ones our current shop offers need are not sent and so the offers in game look wrong and error when you try to buy.
Is anyone else seeing this new behavior of not getting down all their product IDs successfully?
After checking the forum, it's clear that Apple has a MAJOR ONGOING PROBLEM here. We are far from the only company experiencing this, and it has been a problem for years. Apple, please FIX THIS!
What's the problem? We receive an email reminding us to renew our developer account. All of Apple's instructions to renew do not work (with no explanation), and yet we are threatened with removal of our apps if we do not renew in time.
Firstly, it should be unnecessary for us to manually renew because we registered a valid credit card to auto-renew. It worked last year, and the same credit card continues to be valid.
Secondly, when we try to manually renew, there is no "Renew" button appearing anywhere, contrary to Apple's instructions. It's not in the Developer app (Mac or iOS), and it does not appear in the Developer account website.
We now have only 16 days left until Apple kicks our app out of the App Store.
@APPLE: We are not alone. Lots of your customers have the same problem, as reported on this forum for multiple years. This problem threatens the livelihoods of many people. Please fix this!
Thank you.
