Swift Assist
Hi, I'm testing out Xcode 16 beta and I have a couple of questions: Is Swift Assist only available on Sequoia? I see that predictive code completion is per https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2024/06/apple-empowers-developers-and-fuels-innovation-with-new-tools-and-resources/, but I tried the beta on Sonoma and I'm not seeing it Regarding Swift Assist - I understand that code is only used to process requests and never stored on servers, and Apple will not use it to train machine learning models. However, my company's security team may still decide that using Swift Assist is too much of a risk. How can we disable it across multiple developer machines? Thank you!

XCTFail immediately aborts the test in Xcode 26 — no retry on failure
Hi, I’m seeing an unexpected change in how XCTFail behaves in UI tests after updating Xcode. I use the following helper method: `func waitForExistance(file: StaticString, line: UInt) -> Self { if !(element.exists || element.waitForExistence(timeout: Configuration.current.predicateTimeout)) { XCTFail("couldn't find element: \(element) after \(Configuration.current.predicateTimeout) seconds", file: file, line: line) return self } else { return self } }` In Xcode 16.4, this worked as expected: – when an element wasn’t found, XCTFail was triggered, but the test continued running, allowing my retry logic to execute. After updating to Xcode 26.1 / 26.2 - the test now immediately aborts after XCTFail, without executing the next retry. The logs show: `t = 113.22s Tear Down t = 113.22s Terminate com.viessmann.care:81789 *** Assertion failure in -[UITests.Tests _caughtUnhandledDeveloperExceptionPermittingControlFlowInterruptions:caughtInterruptionException:whileExecutingBlock:], XCTestCase+IssueHandling.m:273 Test Case '-[UITests.Tests test_case]' failed (114.323 seconds). Flushing outgoing messages to the IDE with timeout 600.00s Received confirmation that IDE processed remaining outgoing messages` It looks like XCTFail in Xcode 26 is now treated as an unhandled developer exception, which stops the test execution immediately, even when it’s called inside a helper method. This was not the case in earlier versions. My questions: Is this a regression in XCTest? Or an intentional change in how XCTFail behaves in newer Xcode versions? Should failures now be reported differently (e.g., using record(.init(type: .assertionFailure, …))) if I want to continue the test instead of aborting it? I would like to restore the previous behavior where the failure is logged without terminating the entire test, so my retry mechanism can still run. Has anyone else run into this after upgrading? Thanks in advance! If you’d like, I can also add recommended workarounds that actually work with Xcode 16.4 (e.g., replacing XCTFail with a non-terminating issue record).

SwiftData error: NSKeyedUnarchiveFromData' should not be used to for un-archiving and will be removed in a future release
I am using SwiftData for my model. Until Xcode 15 beta 4 I did not have issues. Since beta 5 I am receiving the following red warning multiple times: 'NSKeyedUnarchiveFromData' should not be used to for un-archiving and will be removed in a future release This seems to be a CoreData warning. However, I am not using CoreData directly. I have no way to change the config of CoreData as used by SwiftData. My model just uses UUID, Int, String, Double, some of them as optionals or Arrays. I only use one attribute (.unique).

Unable to debug Memory Graph in Xcode: "an unknown error occurred launching the helper task"
I am not able to use the Debug Memory Graph tool as well as Leaks instrument inside Xcode to debug my project. I'm running my project on physical iOS device on running 18.3 version and I tested the project on two different MacBooks running Xcode 16.3 and 16.1. On both the same problem persists. I have also reinstalled the project on the device and tried restarting all devices and cleared DerivedData. Nothing helped. XCode26 doesnt compile PhotosUI properly
Hi so i have a given project where I am trying to use components within the PhotosUI Framework with Xcode26 and Xcode26.0.1 Just for reference here is an attached screenshot This sample code compiled successfully with xcode16.4 and was in production. There is no change in the pbxproj file , all the build settings have remained the same. Attaching it for reference. project.pbxproj.txt While showing declarations of PHPickerViewControllerDelegate i get two options which is the same as in Xcode16.4 while browsing online found this reddit thread which is very similar https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcode/comments/1nkku20/my_project_wont_compile_after_xcode_26_update_due/ Pls help :)

Unable to launch tests in Xcode 26
I am trying to upgrade my app to use Xcode 26 and I cannot get my tests to launch. I am trying to launch tests to the simulator, and I always get this error after 300 second timeout: "encountered an error (The test runner hung before establishing connection.)" There are no other errors getting logged. I can run to the same simulator just fine, and in Xcode 16 the tests launch with no issues. The tests also run fine on an actual iPhone. Thanks in advance.

How to Download IOS 26 beta runtime simulator using "xcodebuild" tool?
How to download the runtime simulators for the most recent Xcode 26 beta? The current download command I’m using doesn’t seem to work, and I’m encountering the following issues: The runtime simulator download command (xcodebuild) requires the version number to be specified explicitly. I’ve tried multiple variations of version names/numbers but haven’t been able to identify the correct naming convention used by Apple for the Xcode 26 beta simulator runtimes. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform IOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion 26 Finding content...iOS 26 is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion 26.0 Finding content...iOS 26.0 is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion 26.0 beta Finding content...iOS 26.0 is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion "26.0 beta" Finding content...iOS 26.0 beta is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion "26.0_beta" Finding content...iOS 26.0_beta is not available for download. $ xcodebuild -downloadPlatform iOS -exportPath ~/Downloads -buildVersion 26.0_beta Finding content...iOS 26.0_beta is not available for download.

Xcode 16 issues with mac virtualisation
I have created a virtualised Mac machine where I am running the latest Xcode version 16.4 with macOS Sequoia as the base image. While running XCTest tests, I am observing a clear difference in behaviour between virtualised and non-virtualised setups. Below is the command I am using to run the tests: /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/xcodebuild -xctestrun /Users/ltuser/290103613/xcui.xctestrun -destination "platform=iOS Simulator,id=79A5F8CC-4A2E-4C91-895D-AE97E25CB824,arch=arm64,OS=18.0" test-without-building "-only-testing:ClassName/MethodName/testName" -derivedDataPath /Users/ltuser/290103613/Archive -verbose IDELogLevel=debug IDETestLogLevel=debug ONLY_ACTIVE_ARCH=YES Observed Issue On virtualised hosts: Every XCTest is executed twice This happens for both passed and failed tests The behaviour is consistent across all virtualised machines On non-virtualised (bare-metal) Macs: Tests execute only once, as expected Debugging Steps Taken Multiple destination suspicion Initially, I noticed the following warning: --- xcodebuild: WARNING: Using the first of multiple matching destinations: { platform:iOS Simulator, id:0FFB9082-94AB-4D0A-A731-CC4452BDD4E7, OS:17.0, name:iPhone 15 } { platform:iOS Simulator, id:0FFB9082-94AB-4D0A-A731-CC4452BDD4E7, OS:17.0, name:iPhone 15 } This raised suspicion that tests might be running twice due to multiple matching destinations. Destination narrowed down I then explicitly restricted the destination to a single simulator UDID, after which: The warning disappeared However, the issue still persists Tests continue to run twice on virtualised hosts Version Comparison Xcode 16.4 + macOS Sequoia (virtualised) → Tests run twice Xcode 15.x (same setup otherwise) → Tests run once Questions Has anyone else faced this issue with Xcode 16.x on virtualised macOS? Is this a known issue with Xcode 16 + Virtualisation? Is there any recommended workaround or configuration change to avoid duplicate test execution? I am currently blocked on this issue and would appreciate confirmation on whether this is an Xcode or virtualisation-related problem. Thank you.

Existing Project Not Showing Installed iOS 26 Simulator (New Projects Work Fine)
Hello everyone, I'm encountering a frustrating issue with Xcode 26 and the iOS Simulator selection, and I'd appreciate any insight from the community. Problem Overview I have updated my Xcode to version 26.0. I have successfully installed the iOS 26 SDK and the iOS 26 Simulator runtime via Xcode's component settings. However, when I open an older, existing project, the device selection dropdown menu does not list the iOS 26 simulator. I can only select older versions, such as my locally installed iOS 18.6 simulator. Key Finding (Diagnosis) New Project Test: When I create a brand new Xcode project, the iOS 26 simulator is correctly available and runs as expected. Conclusion: This strongly suggests the issue lies with a specific configuration setting in the existing (old) project, rather than the Xcode installation itself. Troubleshooting Steps Taken I suspect a project-level configuration is somehow blocking the display of the new simulator. I've already checked: General -> Deployment Target: This is set to an older version, but theoretically shouldn't hide the simulator list. Build Settings -> Base SDK: This is set to the latest iOS SDK. Has anyone else experienced this behavior when upgrading projects to support iOS 26? What specific configuration files (e.g., .xcodeproj settings, Podfile configurations, or specific Build Settings) should I check to ensure my old project properly recognizes and displays the newly installed iOS 26 simulator? Any pointers or solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

How does one figure out the Team ID for their Personal Team
I can find the Team ID for a registered development account by going to:developer.apple.com > Account > Membership > Team IDI'm sure that a similar ID exists for the Personal Team. If I select my personal team in xcode and then open MyProject.xcodeproj > project.pbxproj, I can find said ID by looking for DEVELOPMENT_TEAM. But this is a rather hacky way to find my personal team ID. Are there other simpler ways to find it?

Xcode 26.1 Simulator download fails with DVTDownloadableErrorDomain code 41 and code 49 on macOS 26.1
I'm trying to download an iOS Simulator runtime in Xcode 26.2 or 26.1 on macOS 26.1, but the download keeps failing with the following error: Download failed. Domain: DVTDownloadableErrorDomain Code: 41 Failed fetching catalog for assetType (com.apple.MobileAsset.iOSSimulatorRuntime), serverParameters ({ RequestedBuild = 23C54;}) Domain: DVTDownloadsUtilitiesErrorDomain. Code: -1. Download failed due to a bad URL. (Catalog download for com.apple.MobileAsset.iOSSimulatorRuntime) Domain: com.apple.MobileAssetError.Download Code: 49 User Info: {checkConfiguration = 1;} macOS & Xcode Info: macOS Version: 26.1 (Build 25B78) Xcode Version: 26.2 (24553) (Build 17C52) What I've tried so far: Formatted my Mac and reinstalled Xcode multiple times. Completely deleted Xcode and its related files several times (/Applications/Xcode.app, caches, preferences). Tried different internet connections from multiple locations. Checked Apple servers and verified network. Attempted downloading other simulator runtimes (fail). but download fails immediately with DVTDownloadableErrorDomain Code 41 and bad URL error. Question: How can I fix the simulator download issue in Xcode 26.2 on macOS 26.1? Is there a known workaround for the bad URL / catalog download error?

Custom font doesn't appear on Storyboard custom font list
Hi everyone, (you can answer in french) I’m french-rookie in xcode, and I have a problem: I’m trying to choice my custom font to add it in my Main.storyboard button, but it not works. I have my « Font provided by application » line in my Info.plist, with the name of my font in [0] (See images below) When I’m on storyboard button, I chose « custom » in font selector, then display font list but my custom font doesn’t appear. I already tried to install the font in my mac, but still stucked, nothing change 😭 Could you help me please? Thanks a lot (I specify that I scrupulously followed the way of doing explained on the Apple official page: Adding a Custom Font to Your App )

Nonprofit Enrollment 28 Days in "Processing" After Continuing - UH4UT85YS3
I'm looking for advice or anyone who's experienced similar delays with nonprofit developer account enrollments. Timeline: In mid-September, we had some initial email validation issues during our nonprofit organization enrollment. Senior Advisor Kevin (case 102691832489) resolved those issues and cleared us to continue enrollment on September 16-17. We continued immediately on September 17th, and our status changed to "Your enrollment is being processed" with enrollment ID UH4UT85YS3. It's now been 28 days with no status changes, no requests for additional information, and no timeline. Follow-up attempts: I've called support three times (Sept 19, 26, and Oct 7). Each time I was told the application is "with a separate department they can't contact." They created additional cases but couldn't provide any updates or access to the reviewing team. Questions for the community: Is 28 days normal for nonprofit enrollment processing after continuing? Has anyone found a way to get status updates when regular support can't access the reviewing team? Is there a specific escalation path for nonprofit accounts that differs from standard enrollments? We're a 501(c)(3) church launching an app for a capital campaign, so the delay is starting to impact our timeline. Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Details: Enrollment ID: UH4UT85YS3 Organization Type: Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Continued enrollment: Sept 17, 2025 Current status: "Your enrollment is being processed" Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Xcode Cloud fails while exporting archive
Hi, Since Xcode 26.2 beta 1, till now (I thought RC or actual release will solve this issue) I have problems exporting archive to appstore via Xcode Cloud (locally everything works and using Xcode 26.2 I was able to submit app to AppStore).
