Xcode 15/16: Copy (cmd+C) doesn’t work reliably when paused at a breakpoint
I’ve been running into an annoying issue for a while now and wondering if anyone else can confirm or suggest a fix. When Xcode hits a breakpoint (i.e., the app is paused), I often need to copy some text from the source code using cmd+C — for example, to paste into the debugger and inspect a variable or object. However, most of the time, the copy operation fails and nothing ends up on the clipboard. I have to repeat the copy action multiple times before it works. This doesn’t happen 100% of the time, but it’s frequent — maybe around 7 out of 10 attempts fail. I’ve been noticing this behavior since around Xcode 15. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a known workaround or fix?

UI Testing Issues
Hi everyone, I've been working on an iOS app for about a year and a half. That application comes with unit and UI automated testings. Recently I started the development of the tvOS application so I added a new target and used the same bundle id as I want to eventually share purchases. What I need I'm working on an application that uses VLC (Need to play media more exotic than MP4) through these two pods pod 'MobileVLCKit', '3.6.0' (Only for iOS) pod 'TVVLCKit', '3.6.0' (Only for tvOS) What works Compilation works fine for both targets Unit tests work fine for both targets UI tests work fine ONLY for the original iOS target What doesn't work and how it fails When I launch the UI tests for the tvOS target, the compilation succeeds, but I get an error when calling app.launch() from my XCTestCase. Failed to get launch progress for <XCUIApplicationImpl: 0x600000c61e90 abergia.com.iptv at ...AppPath...>: App installation failed: Unable to Install “...AppName...”. This app is not made for this device. This app was not built to support this device family; app is compatible with ( 1, 2 ) but this device supports ( 3 ). (Underlying Error: Unable to Install “...AppName...”. This app is not made for this device. This app was not built to support this device family; app is compatible with ( 1, 2 ) but this device supports ( 3 ). What I tried Single target - Both Pods It looks like I can 'cheat' a little the system and make the Xcode target compatible with both iOS and tvO, but when declaring both pods inside the same CocoaPod target, the installation fails as one of the library is not compatible. Use a newer version of VLC (4.0.0) Works BUT that version is way too unstable, I will eventually use it again once they fix all the issues. Different Bundle ID Changing the bundle id of the tvOS application resolves the issue BUT I really want to use the same bundle id to share the purchases. Not UI testing the tvOS version It's an option I'm starting to contemplate out of frustration but I'm sure that we have people here who can help me!

Flutter Xcode Errors
I just started working with Flutter. I use a Macbook m2 and my phone is an iPhone XR. I made a very simple application but no matter what I did, I couldn't start my application on my iPhone XR. I got help from all the AIs but we couldn't do it. I deleted everything including Xcode, Android Studio and Flutter and reinstalled them and I followed the SDK installation step by step on the Flutter page but I can't run my project on Xcode. I entered my Apple account including all the signings and certificates via the .workspace file extension but it didn't work. The error I get from Xcode keeps changing. We installed podfiles with the support I got from the AIs and after some fiddling, I got the only error right now: Command PhaseScriptExecution failed with a nonzero exit code

PDF opening from iOS Unity app in landscape mode instead of portrait
In our Unity App for iOS build, when we opened the PDF from the app, it is automatically opening in landspace mode instead of portrait. In the android and windows apps, we are able to open in the portrait mode. We tried to make the changes in the project settings but it did not change. Any way in which we can acheive this would be helpful for us.

Xcode 16's "Stage All" button does nothing most of the time
Use a project hosted by a filesystem/local Git repository. Make changes to any file in the project. Switch to the "Source Control" Navigator, and the "Changes" sub-navigator within that. Select "Uncommitted Changes", or any file below that. Verify that your changes appear in the source change browser/editor on the right. Click the "Stage All" button. Absolutely nothing happens, 90% of the time. Go back to the Changes navigator, right-click on an item there and select the "Stage Changes in..." popup menu item. It works, every time. I haven't found any pattern to the 10% of the time the "Stage All" button actually works, wrt what changes are selected in the navigator, whether I've already typed a commit message, etc.. I happen to be using Xcode 16.0 on two Macs: a Mac Studio running MacOS 14.6.1, and a 2019 MacBook Pro running MacOS 14.7.1. Both exhibit the same symptoms.

Trouble Seeing print debug statements
I am working on an XCode project and I have some Swift functions within a helper functions file. This file has some functions declared that create 3 global variables. These global variables are then used in various views throughout the app. In the functions, there are print statements for when it catches an error. However, when I run the app and I get an error that stems from this file, there are no print statements. How can I have this print statements show up in the debug console?

Workbench Ad Tester not returning preview URLs
Apologies if this isn't tagged right but dev tools and services seemed the most appropriate since this is related to the workbench Ad Tester tool. I'm seeing a behavior where the preview link is not being generated. Specifically, I am seeing a POST request to the following URL consistently fail: https://iadworkbench.apple.com/adtester/api/v1/ads/previewLink?orgId=1127861 Variations/scenarios I have tried so far: All possible ad format choices on all possible devices All options for the placement type Both third party and uploaded creative sources Uploaded creative sources appear to be failing to upload as well A simple div with a "hello world" content fails as a third party creative source Multiple apple accounts I created a new account specifically to test if my primary apple ID was experiencing issues with this Multiple browsers I have tried multiple versions of Chrome/Firefox/Safari I tested with and without browser extensions to determine whether an extension was interfering or not Clearing session/local storage along with cookies I also created new profiles in browsers to verify that I was getting a fresh browser environment In all of these cases, the API request to generate a preview link is consistently failing with a 500 error code. It's worth noting that the web preview option works, but this isn't a truly accurate test environment and can't be solely relied on when testing ad content. I don't know exactly when this started happening as I have not used it in the last couple of weeks but I have used the workbench ad tester extensively in the past the same way I have been trying with my current test without issue. That coupled with the fact that the request for the preview link consistently fails in all of the test scenarios I've outlined above leads me to believe there is a problem with the API that is responsible for generating the preview links.

Invalid binary for tvOS app which integrates an xcframework
We're building an SDK (let's call it MyFramework) which is distributed as an .xcframework for developers to integrate it into their own apps. Recently, we've added tvOS support by adding it as a supported destination for the SDK. Essentially, the SDK became a cross-platform framework and easy to be adopted in both iOS and tvOS apps. The .xcframework is generated fine, all builds correctly. We've tested the SDK integrated in test apps. We've also submitted an iOS archive app to the AppStore connect, just to make sure all is well with the AppStore submission. However, when I tried submitting a tvOS archive app (that integrates the same SDK) to the AppStore connect, the build was marked as invalid binary and we've got the following error message: ITMS-90562: Invalid Bundle - One of the nested bundles is built for a platform which is different from the main bundle platform. Please make sure that all bundles have correct platform specification. First, I thought that any of the modules of the framework was not correctly configured for tvOS but that was not the case. Everything compiles ok and it runs in debug as expected. It only fails when trying to submit the tvOS app that integrates the SDK. After a lot of investigating, we realised that the reason for the AppStore submission error is because we codesign the framework. We use codesign to distribute it as cryptographically signed xcframework. codesign --timestamp -v --sign "Apple Distribution: Company (xxxxxxxxxx)" "MyFramework.xcframework" As soon as we remove the above line from our CI/CD pipeline that generates the xcframework, and submit a tvOS archive app that integrates the unsigned framework, the AppStore submission error goes away and the TestFlight build can be tested. I've also tried to just strip the _CodeSignature folder from the .xcframework package but it still fails. So the only solution currently is to not codesign the xcframework to be able to upload tvOS archive apps that integrate the SDK to the AppStore connect. However, we're still puzzled as to why only the tvOS archive app gets the invalid binary error when it integrates a signed SDK. I feel like the error message is quite misleading if we have to stop signing the SDK xcframework for it to be accepted during the AppStore submission. Anyone has any idea? Or has anyone encountered a similar issue? Thanks!

Xcode crash reports from TestFlight
My application is in flightTest mode. I received my first two crash reports in XCODE /Organizer. The context is well described, and I was able to isolate the locations where very serious errors occurred. My application is connected. I'm missing one piece of data in this crash report: the time of the crash. This will help me see what (in my case) static data was being read on the data server at that time. This will help me investigate. Is it possible to obtain this information?

Can I have 2 different accounts for my DBA names under a LLC under a single developer account
Hey! I just wanted to inquire is it possible to have 2 separate accounts for my DBA names under one llc's developer account. For example if my 2 DBA names are Henry Foods and Henry Clothes and my LLC name is Parent Henry LLC , can I have 2 separate app store profiles for Henry Foods and Henry Clothes under the developer account of parent Henry ? (Those are just examples names)

Symbol not found: NSUserActivityTypeLiveActivity and WidgetCenter.UserInfoKey.activityID
The app I'm working on has iOS 16.0 as target. Recently Live Activities support was added, but then it started crashing when running on iOS 16.0 devices. After some investigation, I've found that the culprit was the presence of NSUserActivityTypeLiveActivity and WidgetCenter.UserInfoKey.activityID, even though they were inside an @available(iOS 17.2, *) block. If I comment these two variables, the app work as expected. I've also tried adding #if canImport(ActivityKit) around the code, but without success. But if the @available isn't working, how can I prevent this? It looks like a bug, since the documentation says that NSUserActivityTypeLiveActivity is supported but iOS 14.0+, but I'm pretty sure it was introduced on 16.1. This is the only output I get with the crash: dyld[66888]: Symbol not found: _$s9WidgetKit0A6CenterC11UserInfoKeyV10activityIDSSvgZ Referenced from: <D6EFF120-2681-34C1-B261-8F3F7B388238> /Users/<redacted>/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Devices/8B5B4DC9-3D54-4C91-8C88-E705E851CA0F/data/Containers/Bundle/Application/DB6671FF-CB07-4570-BD63-C851D94FAF29/<redacted>.app/<redacted>.debug.dylib Expected in: <C5E72BB5-533F-3658-A987-E849888F4DFC> /Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Volumes/iOS_20A360/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes/iOS 16.0.simruntime/Contents/Resources/RuntimeRoot/System/Library/Frameworks/WidgetKit.framework/WidgetKit

Error Missing required module 'RxCocoaRuntime' in xcframeworks
Hi. I have a xcframework that has a dependency on 'RxSwift' and 'RxCocoa'. I deployed it using SPM by embedding it in a Swift Package. However when I import swift package into another project, I keep getting the following error: "Missing required module 'RxCocoaRuntime" How can I fix this? Below are the steps to reproduce the error. Steps Create Xcode proejct, make a dependency on 'RxSwift' and 'RxCocoa' (no matter doing it through tuist or cocoapods) Create XCFramework from that proejct. (I used commands below) xcodebuild archive \ -workspace SimpleFramework.xcworkspace \ -scheme "SimpleFramework" \ -destination "generic/platform=iOS" \ -archivePath "./SimpleFramework-iphoneos.xcarchive" \ -sdk iphoneos \ SKIP_INSTALL=NO \ BUILD_LIBRARY_FOR_DISTRIBUTION=YES xcodebuild archive \ -workspace SimpleFramework.xcworkspace \ -scheme "SimpleFramework" \ -archivePath "./SimpleFramework-iphonesimulator.xcarchive" \ -sdk "iphonesimulator" \ SKIP_INSTALL=NO \ BUILD_LIBRARY_FOR_DISTRIBUTION=YES xcodebuild -create-xcframework \ -framework "./SimpleFramework-iphoneos.xcarchive/Products/Library/Frameworks/SimpleFramework.framework" \ -framework "./SimpleFramework-iphonesimulator.xcarchive/Products/Library/Frameworks/SimpleFramework.framework" \ -output "./SimpleFramework.xcframework" Embed in Swift Package, and deploy. // swift-tools-version: 6.0 // The swift-tools-version declares the minimum version of Swift required to build this package. import PackageDescription let package = Package( name: "SimplePackage", platforms: [.iOS(.v16)], products: [ .library( name: "SimplePackage", targets: ["SimplePackage"]), ], dependencies: [ .package(url: "https://github.com/ReactiveX/RxSwift", from: "6.8.0") ], targets: [ .binaryTarget( name: "SimpleFramework", path: "Sources/SimpleFramework.xcframework" ), .target( name: "SimplePackage", dependencies: [ "SimpleFramework", "RxSwift", .product(name: "RxCocoa", package: "RxSwift") ] ) ] ) Download Swift Package in another project and import module. I resolved this by removing dependencies from the Swift Package, downloading package in another project, and fetching dependencies by cocoapods. Thist works, but I don't want to use another dependency manager while using SPM. Development Environment CPU : Apple M4 Max MacOS : Sequoia 15.3 Xcode : 16.2
