Hi everyone,
I recently updated to Xcode 26.0 and noticed that the “Extract Subview” refactoring option seems to be missing.
Now, in Xcode 26, the only options I see under Editor -> Refactor -> are:
Extract to Selection File
Extract to Method
Extract to Variable
Extract All Occurrences
But there’s no Extract Subview as there was before.
Was Extract Subview intentionally removed in Xcode 26? Or is it hidden behind a new menu location or renamed?

When running a SwiftUI Multiplatform app in Xcode Cloud I'm getting the following error:
CIWatcher encountered an error in CIWatcherTests failed with:
Failed to install or launch the test runner. (Underlying Error: Could not launch “CIWatcherTests”. Runningboard has returned error 5. Please check the system logs for the underlying cause of the error. (Underlying Error: The operation couldn’t be completed. Launch failed. (Underlying Error: Launchd job spawn failed)))
This runs fine on iOS and all those tests pass.
The SwiftUI app on Mac is a menu bar app so I'm not sure if this could be the issue as it's not launching for some reason on the Xcode Cloud system? Maybe I need to add some run option to make this work?
When run locally both iOS and macOS pass all the tests successfully
Hi,
Ever since I updated to macOS Tahoe and started using Xcode 26 daily, I've run into an issue where it gets stuck very frequently when launching and running my app in the simulator. It happens with the main app target as well as when running unit tests. If I restart Xcode and the simulator app, it works fine again for a while, but after some use, it goes back to the same situation. In Activity Monitor, Xcode ends up at 1000% CPU utilization for a minute or more, basically rendering the simulator and the debugger stuck. If I untick the "Debug Executable" option in the scheme editor, it works fine as well.
Anyone else run into the same situation, or are there any tips I can follow to fix this issue? It makes it really tedious to make changes and then be stalled for a minute or more to see the app run. I've restarted the Mac, erased the booted simulator as well. I'm on a MacBook Pro M4 Pro. Everything used to run fine before macOS Tahoe / Xcode 26 on my main device. In fact, I used to run macOS Tahoe / Xcode 26 beta versions on a separate partition without any problems.
I am using the latest version of Xcode 16, and I have created a GPX file in my project. However, I am unable to see or select the file to simulate the GPS location. I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall Xcode completely, but the issue persists. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? How can I resolve this? Thank you.
After updating from Xcode 16 to the new Xcode 26 beta 3, running my iOS app becomes slow to the point of unusable. It builds and installs fine, but when running with the console, it lags about 20-50x compared to building and running with Xcode 16. I wanted to try our Xcode 26 to preview my new app icon made in icon composer but now I don't think it's worth the hassle.
When running via simulator, the same performance issues. Anybody also struggling with slow on-device testing speed? I am on Sequoia 15.5.
I know this post isn't going to give a lot of details, but what I experienced tonight was so completely weird that I wanted to get it posted here in case others run into it:
FIRST: All was well until I made a trivial change to a large Objective-C++ module. I suddenly got the idea to look at that line in the code review pane, to see if that area of code had ever had recent modifications.
But, the entire module showed up as modified -- one giant change bar, with nothing on the right side of the code review pane, no matter what commit I selected.
Then I noticed that the two lines of code which had all of 4 characters edited were no longer showing any change bars.
Yet, the file showed up as "modified". Still, the exact line changes were not showing in the source code navigator, even though other files showed their changes.
Note I'm connected to our remote repo on github. I did some command line git checks of the local repo, and the changes were there (as yet unstaged).
So -- I figured, I'm gonna ask the Apple Coding Assistant what's up. And it gave some fantastic advice, especially on how to confirm the changes really were in the repo ready to stage and commit and push. Which I did.
But despite following a couple hours of wonderful suggestions, I could never get the change bars back -- for this one specific file!
(yes, the file was in the repo, and in the project -- everything seemed OK with the file itself -- nothing had changed in the project, which compiled and ran perfectly with my changes).
SECOND -- suddenly, the AI assistant seemed to crash Xcode.
When I went to re-run Xcode, it just crashed exactly the same. The crash log indicated "Xcode is crashing inside the IDEIntelligenceChat plugin while it’s trying to “apply changes” to a Source Editor buffer".
Ultimately, I needed to restart Xcode holding down the SHIFT key. I could open other projects, but not the one I had been working on.
So I turned OFF apple Intelligence (thanks, ChatGPT). That allowed me to launch.
It sounds like some sort of corrupt Apple Intelligence chat logs and/or caches, which ChatGPT has given me extensive suggestions for deleting. I don't have the energy to attack that tonight -- I did an additional Time Machine backup and hope to take a closer look tomorrow.
Ideally -- I'd rather NOT lose all my on-going coding assistant chats for this project -- I had some ongoing suggestions I was working on.
But more concerning is the weirdness with changebars affecting this one 7,000 line .mm file. It doesn't seem like there's anything that should affect those change bars for ONE FILE that is in the repo and where changes can be seen from a git diff command line operation.
If it's a bug -- I can live with it. But it's worrisome.
Other than that, Xcode 26.2 has been running great! Unlike 26.1, which insisted on re-compiling all 600 files in my project every time I ran/debugged, 26.2 just does the 2-6 modified files -- a perfect incremental compile. I've saved HOURS of wasted unnecessary compilation since 26.2 was released.
When trying to launch an app built with Xcode in iOS12, differences occur depending on the macOS version on which Xcode is installed.
When building with Xcode 26.2 (or Xcode 16.4) installed on macOS Sequoia, installing it on iOS 12 and tapping the app icon launches the app.
When building with Xcode 26.2 (or Xcode 16.4) installed on macOS Tahoe, installing it on iOS 12 and tapping the app icon does not launch the app. The following log was displayed upon launch:
Dec 15 11:46:35 xxx assertiond[58] <Notice>: Submitting new job for "com.xxx.sample" on behalf of <BKProcess: 0x10151a710; SpringBoard; com.apple.springboard; pid: 48; agency: SystemShell; visibility: foreground; task: running>
Dec 15 11:46:35 xxx assertiond[58] <Notice>: Submitted job with label: UIKitApplication:com.xxx.sample[0x2dfd][58]
Dec 15 11:46:35 xxx assertiond[58] <Notice>: Unable to get pid for 'UIKitApplication:com.xxx.sample[0x2dfd][58]': No such process (3)
The same issue occurs with both .app and .ipa.
I would like to know the technical reason behind this, if anyone knows, please let me know.

Hi there,
I uploaded an update bundle for the posted app, but I got a rejection message.
ITMS-90048: This bundle is invalid - Your archive contains paths that are not allowed: [._Symbols]
The XCode version I'm using is 16.2, and I've been trying to find a route using Run Script and Finder, but I don't know what the hell it is about.
Does anybody know what could cause this issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hello, my Apple Developer Program had expired 20 days ago, but i cant renew in any way (auto-renew dont work, i dont have "renew button" on web, dont have it in iOS and macOS developer apps, so i cant renew it. Has anyone encountered this problem? How can i solve it and renew my membership?
My membership expires in 10 days and I'm trying to find out how I can renew it.According to Applet:"You can renew starting 30 days before the expiration date of your existing membership or any time after it expires. Your expiration date is available in your account on the developer website. To renew, sign in to your account with the Apple ID you used to enroll, and click the "Renew Now” button. If your membership is still active when you renew, your new membership will activate as soon as your current membership expires and you will receive two (2) new TSIs."So, I sign in to my account with the Apple ID I used to enroll and I can't see the "Reset Now" button anywyere. All I can see is the "Overview", "Membership", "Certificates, IDs & Profiles", "iTunes Connect", "CloudKit Dashboard" and "Code-Level Support" under the "Programs Resources" section, on the left, and the "Documentation", "Forums", "Bug Reporter" and "News & Updates" under the "Additional Resources" section, again on the left.I went to each and every of these and there is no "Renew Now" button anywhere.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
We have a simple workflow that just runs the Test action on my unit_tests scheme (see Xcode Cloud workflow configuration screenshot). The workflow is configured to use Xcode 16.4 (Latest Release), macOS Sequoia 15.6 (Latest Release), and iOS 18.0 simulators.
Today, this workflow has been consistently running indefinitely. The Xcode cloud runner tries to launch the simulator to execute the tests, but it fails. See the error message in the screenshot from Xcode Cloud logs. Link to corresponding build is in my Feedback Assistant ticket.
It continues to retry this operation for a very long time — I had one job that ran for over 90 minutes. Link to corresponding build also in that same Feedback Assistant ticket.
Are Xcode Cloud runners perhaps currently undergoing maintenance? Or is something else going on. I would appreciate if Xcode Cloud usage from today could be refunded to my team’s account.
Feedback Assistant ticket #FB20195292.
Error message:

Xcode 16.3 release
macOS 15.4
iOS 18.4 / iPadOS 18.4 release builds
Memory graph fails to build when targeting physical devices running release builds referenced above. Memory graph will build against a simulator device.
When creating an icon using icon composer, I cant upload a build to testflight/App Store connect.
Running on device from Xcode works fine, but as soon as I archive and upload to App Store Connect, I get an error saying the icon contains an alpha channel
Will RC be allowed to upload to App Store Connect?
I have tried a couple of times with 17A321 and I keep getting unsupported SDK or Xcode version.

Title: Apple Developer Program membership still not active after payment (3 weeks)
Hello,
I purchased the Apple Developer Program membership on February 6, 2026. The payment was successfully charged and the invoice was issued.
However, my membership still appears as inactive in my developer account, and I cannot proceed with app submission.
I have already contacted Apple Developer Support but have not received a response yet.
Has anyone experienced a similar delay or know what else I should check?
Details:
Purchase date: 06.02.2026

Hi everyone,
I subscribed to the Apple Developer Program on Tuesday evening, February 15th, 2026. The payment has already been charged to my bank account, but my account still shows the status “Pending” with the message “Subscribe your membership”.
It’s now been several days, and I haven’t received any confirmation email or any request for additional information.
I already contacted Apple Support by email/phone without any response, but I’d like to know if other developers have experienced the same situation and how long it took before their account was activated.
My Enrollment ID

Thank you,
Rakan

Hello,
I'm unable to run any test cases in Xcode 16 with the iOS 18 simulator.
Steps to Reproduce:
Create a new iOS project in Xcode 16 using the default iOS app template with the testing option checked.
Run any test or UI test case by clicking the "Play" icon in the Test navigator.
Xcode gets stuck at the "Testing" state indefinitely.
Environment:
macOS 15 beta 8
Xcode 16 beta 6
iOS 18 beta 7 simulator
We started seeing an access issue today when attempting to go to the Xcode Cloud tab in App Store Connect. When you navigate to https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/teams/:teamId/apps/:appId/ci we're seeing the following message:
The page you’re looking for can’t be found.
The page you’re looking for does not exist, or you do not have permission to view it.
I am the account holder so it shouldn't be a permissions issue. Is there an ongoing outage or problem in Xcode Cloud? And, if so, where can I monitor this accurately?
My app start up has became horrid. It takes 1 minute to open SQLlite database for my rust core. Impossible to work...
I have Address Sanitizer, Thread Perf Checker and Thread Sanitizer disabled...
Created a new project in Xcode 16.3. While adding breakpoints app is crashing every time in Xcode and playground both. Tried with swift 5 and swift 6 getting same error.
Crash reason : Couldn't find the Objective-C runtime library in loaded images.
