rm results in "operation not permitted"
I have a file that can not be removed. When I attempt rm -f /Applications/CrashPlan.app I get "Operation not permitted"Here is the scenario, CrashPlan.app was installed on the MacBook Pro (MacBookPro14,2) running 10.14.4. I found out it was an older version of CrashPlan so I downloaded the installer for the new version and ran it. The installed failed and left behind a file of size 0K.-rw-r--r--@ 1 root admin 0 Apr 11 11:43 CrashPlan.appI then tried to remove the 0K file in terminal with sudo rm -f /Applications/CrashPlan.app and that failed with operation not permitted. I then booted into Recovery mode and ran csrutil disable from terminal and rebooted.sudo rm -f /Applications/CrashPlan.app still failed with operation not permitted.I ran csrutil status in terminal to make sure that sip was disabled and got back: System Integrity Protection status: disabled.I tried booting into single user mode and mounted the drive and tried to rm from there and got the same result. So, from single user mode I did the following:mv /Applications /ApplicationsOLDmkdir /Applicationsmv /ApplicationsOLD/* /Applications/and got an error "Operation not permitted" for CrashPlan.apprebooted and was able to install the new version of CrashPlan, but now I have a folder /ApplicationsOLD that I can not get rid of.Any ideas?

交易无法结束 (Transactions Unable to Finish)
200002703899379、200002703900716、200002703902023。 A user reported that after making 3 purchases on July 8th, they have been unable to initiate new purchases, always receiving a prompt that the item has already been purchased. Upon investigation, we found that the previous transactions couldn't be finalized. We use StoreKit2 and have successfully called await transaction.finish() to end the transactions. However, every time a new payment is initiated, Transaction.unfinished still returns information about the previously completed transactions. Could this be an issue with the device or Apple ID? The user has tried restarting the device and re-logging into their Apple ID, but these attempts were unsuccessful. Is there any way to resolve this? The Apple transaction IDs that the user is unable to finalize are: 200002703899379, 200002703900716, 200002703902023.

Memory consumption of apps under macOS 26 "Tahoe"
macOS 26 "Tahoe" is allocating much more memory for apps than former macOS versions: A customer contacted me with my app's Thumbnail extension allocating so much memory that her 48 GB RAM Mac Mini ran into "out of application memory" state. I couldn't identify any memory leak in my extension's code nor reproduce the issue, but found the main app allocating as much as 5 times the memory compared to running on macOS 15 or lower. This productive app is explicitly using "Liquid Glass" views as well as implicitly e.g. for an inspector pane. So I created a sample app, just based on Xcode's template of a document-based app, and the issue is still showing (although less dramatically): This sample app allocates 22 MB according to Tahoe's Activity Monitor, while Sequoia only requires 16 MB: macOS 15.6.1 macOS 26.2 Is anyone experiencing similar issues? I suspect some massive leak in Tahoe's memory management, and just filed a corresponding feedback (FB21967167).

Linker nondeterminism (ld_new) involving branch islands
Hi, I'm investigating what looks like possibly nondeterministic behavior when linking large iOS app binaries. I do not have a concise reproduction of the issue yet, but am trying to hunt down possible leads. In particular, the problem appears to surface when invoking clang to link a binary and the resulting order of the 'branch island' instructions appears to be random each time the binary is linked (as shown by the link map output). I was wondering if anyone with insight into the linker's current implementation could shed light on whether that is expected, and if there is anything that can be done to prevent it. FWIW, it seems like it might be size-dependent as smaller app binaries don't appear to exhibit the same behavior. I'd be glad to share more specifics and hopefully a reproduction if I can ever find one eventually. Some environment info (Xcode 16.4 toolchain): clang -v: Apple clang version 17.0.0 (clang-1700.0.13.5) Target: arm64-apple-darwin24.6.0 Thread model: posix InstalledDir: /Applications/Xcode-16.4.0.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/bin ld -v: @(#)PROGRAM:ld PROJECT:ld-1167.5 BUILD 01:45:05 Apr 30 2025 configured to support archs: armv6 armv7 armv7s arm64 arm64e arm64_32 i386 x86_64 x86_64h armv6m armv7k armv7m armv7em will use ld-classic for: armv6 armv7 armv7s i386 armv6m armv7k armv7m armv7em LTO support using: LLVM version 17.0.0 (static support for 29, runtime is 29) TAPI support using: Apple TAPI version 17.0.0 (tapi-1700.0.3.5)

How to animate `UIHostingController.view` frame when my View's size changes?
I have a UIHostingController on which I have set: hostingController.sizingOptions = [.intrinsicContentSize] The size of my SwiftUI content changes with animation (I update a @Published property on an ObservableObject inside a withAnimation block). However, I notice that my hostingController.view just jumps to the new frame without animating the change. Question: how can I animate the frame changes in UIHostingController that are caused by sizingOptions = [.intrinsicContentSize]

Can't get USBSerialDriverKit driver loaded
I am writing a DriverKit driver for the first that uses the USBSerialDriverKit. The driver its purpose is to expose the device as serial interface (/dev/cu.tetra-pei0 or something like this). My problem: I don't see any logs from that driver in the console and I tried like 40 different approaches and checked everything. The last message I see is that the driver get successfully added to the system it is in the list of active and enabled system driver extensions but when I plug the device in none of my logs appear and it doesn't show up in ioreg. So without my driver the target device looks like this: +-o TETRA PEI interface@02120000 <class IOUSBHostDevice, id 0x10000297d, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (13 ms), retain 30> | { | "sessionID" = 268696051410 | "USBSpeed" = 3 | "UsbLinkSpeed" = 480000000 | "idProduct" = 36886 | "iManufacturer" = 1 | "bDeviceClass" = 0 | "IOPowerManagement" = {"PowerOverrideOn"=Yes,"DevicePowerState"=2,"CurrentPowerState"=2,"CapabilityFlags"=32768,"MaxPowerState"=2,"DriverPowerState"=0} | "bcdDevice" = 9238 | "bMaxPacketSize0" = 64 | "iProduct" = 2 | "iSerialNumber" = 0 | "bNumConfigurations" = 1 | "UsbDeviceSignature" = <ad0c16901624000000ff0000> | "USB Product Name" = "TETRA PEI interface" | "locationID" = 34734080 | "bDeviceSubClass" = 0 | "bcdUSB" = 512 | "USB Address" = 6 | "kUSBCurrentConfiguration" = 1 | "IOCFPlugInTypes" = {"9dc7b780-9ec0-11d4-a54f-000a27052861"="IOUSBHostFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOUSBLib.bundle"} | "UsbPowerSinkAllocation" = 500 | "bDeviceProtocol" = 0 | "USBPortType" = 0 | "IOServiceDEXTEntitlements" = (("com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.usb")) | "USB Vendor Name" = "Motorola Solutions, Inc." | "Device Speed" = 2 | "idVendor" = 3245 | "kUSBProductString" = "TETRA PEI interface" | "kUSBAddress" = 6 | "kUSBVendorString" = "Motorola Solutions, Inc." | } | +-o AppleUSBHostCompositeDevice <class AppleUSBHostCompositeDevice, id 0x100002982, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain 5> | { | "IOProbeScore" = 50000 | "CFBundleIdentifier" = "com.apple.driver.usb.AppleUSBHostCompositeDevice" | "IOProviderClass" = "IOUSBHostDevice" | "IOClass" = "AppleUSBHostCompositeDevice" | "IOPersonalityPublisher" = "com.apple.driver.usb.AppleUSBHostCompositeDevice" | "bDeviceSubClass" = 0 | "CFBundleIdentifierKernel" = "com.apple.driver.usb.AppleUSBHostCompositeDevice" | "IOMatchedAtBoot" = Yes | "IOMatchCategory" = "IODefaultMatchCategory" | "IOPrimaryDriverTerminateOptions" = Yes | "bDeviceClass" = 0 | } | +-o lghub_agent <class AppleUSBHostDeviceUserClient, id 0x100002983, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain 7> | { | "IOUserClientCreator" = "pid 1438, lghub_agent" | "IOUserClientDefaultLocking" = Yes | } | +-o IOUSBHostInterface@0 <class IOUSBHostInterface, id 0x100002986, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (5 ms), retain 9> | | { | | "USBPortType" = 0 | | "IOCFPlugInTypes" = {"2d9786c6-9ef3-11d4-ad51-000a27052861"="IOUSBHostFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOUSBLib.bundle"} | | "USB Vendor Name" = "Motorola Solutions, Inc." | | "bcdDevice" = 9238 | | "USBSpeed" = 3 | | "idProduct" = 36886 | | "IOServiceDEXTEntitlements" = (("com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.usb")) | | "bInterfaceSubClass" = 0 | | "bConfigurationValue" = 1 | | "locationID" = 34734080 | | "USB Product Name" = "TETRA PEI interface" | | "bInterfaceProtocol" = 0 | | "iInterface" = 0 | | "bAlternateSetting" = 0 | | "idVendor" = 3245 | | "bInterfaceNumber" = 0 | | "bInterfaceClass" = 255 | | "bNumEndpoints" = 2 | | } | | | +-o lghub_agent <class AppleUSBHostInterfaceUserClient, id 0x100002988, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain 6> | { | "UsbUserClientBufferStatistics" = {"IOMemoryDescriptor"=0,"IOBufferMemoryDescriptor"=0,"IOSubMemoryDescriptor"=0} | "IOUserClientCreator" = "pid 1438, lghub_agent" | "UsbUserClientBufferAllocations" = {"Bytes"=0,"Descriptors"=0} | "IOUserClientDefaultLocking" = Yes | } | +-o IOUSBHostInterface@1 <class IOUSBHostInterface, id 0x100002987, registered, matched, active, busy 0 (5 ms), retain 9> | { | "USBPortType" = 0 | "IOCFPlugInTypes" = {"2d9786c6-9ef3-11d4-ad51-000a27052861"="IOUSBHostFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOUSBLib.bundle"} | "USB Vendor Name" = "Motorola Solutions, Inc." | "bcdDevice" = 9238 | "USBSpeed" = 3 | "idProduct" = 36886 | "IOServiceDEXTEntitlements" = (("com.apple.developer.driverkit.transport.usb")) | "bInterfaceSubClass" = 0 | "bConfigurationValue" = 1 | "locationID" = 34734080 | "USB Product Name" = "TETRA PEI interface" | "bInterfaceProtocol" = 0 | "iInterface" = 0 | "bAlternateSetting" = 0 | "idVendor" = 3245 | "bInterfaceNumber" = 1 | "bInterfaceClass" = 255 | "bNumEndpoints" = 2 | } | +-o lghub_agent <class AppleUSBHostInterfaceUserClient, id 0x10000298a, !registered, !matched, active, busy 0, retain 6> { "UsbUserClientBufferStatistics" = {"IOMemoryDescriptor"=0,"IOBufferMemoryDescriptor"=0,"IOSubMemoryDescriptor"=0} "IOUserClientCreator" = "pid 1438, lghub_agent" "UsbUserClientBufferAllocations" = {"Bytes"=0,"Descriptors"=0} "IOUserClientDefaultLocking" = Yes } more details in my comment.

Questions about DeclaredAgeRange's isEligibleForAgeFeatures instance variable
Our team is in the process of updating our apps to comply with Texas's new state law. In order to minimize user confusion and provide the most ideal flow to access the app as possible, we have a few questions we would like answered. Summary of questions: Is isEligibleForAgeFeatures intended to be accurate and accessible before the user has accepted the Age Range permissions prompt? As other US states and/or other countries adopt a similar law going forward, will this instance variable cover those locations? Will the runtime crashes on isEligibleForAgeFeatures and other symbols in the DeclaredAgeRange framework be addressed in a future RC or in the official release? Details and Investigations: With regards to isEligibleForAgeFeatures, our team has noticed that this value is always false before the age range prompt has been accepted. This has been tested on the XCode RC 26.2 (17C48). Assuming the request needs to be accepted first, isEligibleForAgeFeatures does not get updated immediately when the user chooses to share their age range (updated to true, when our sandbox test account is a Texas resident). Only upon subsequent relaunches of the app does this return a value that reflects the sandbox user's location. Is isEligibleForAgeFeatures intended to be accurate and accessible before the user has accepted the Age Range permissions prompt? This leads to our follow-up question to clarify whether isEligibleForAgeFeatures explicitly correlates to a user in an affected legal jurisdiction–if future US states and/or other countries adopt a similar law going forward, will this instance variable cover those locations? Can we also get confirmation about whether the runtime crash on isEligibleForAgeFeatures and other symbols in the DeclaredAgeRange framework will be addressed in a future RC or in the official release? Thank you.

(Xcode 26.0 → 26.2) Constant UI flickering in split view mode
Hello, I’ve been experiencing a persistent issue in Xcode since version 26.0, and it is still present in 26.2. When using the split view to display two files side by side, the area in the top‑right corner of the window (the inspector / options panel) starts flickering continuously. This happens regardless of whether I’m using the light or dark theme, and even with the Liquid Glass effect disabled in macOS settings. None of these changes have any impact on the issue. I have already submitted a bug report through Xcode (Feedback Assistant), but the issue is still present as of today. The flickering makes the interface difficult to use and visually very distracting. I’ve attached a video to clearly show the issue. I will review the attachment at the time I publish this post. Thanks in advance for any help or feedback. System Extension Termination Fails
My application installs a system extension. When I try to remove the app from the Applications folder (cmd + backspace) I get an error message: "The operation can’t be completed right now because another operation is in progress, such as moving or copying an item or emptying the Bin." According to systemextensionsctl the extension state is "terminating for uninstall but still running". I can see an error in the console logs: kernelmanagerd Failed to terminate dext com.my.driver-dk, error: Kernel request failed: (os/kern) invalid address (1) sysextd a category delegate declined to terminate extension with identifier: com.my.driver-dk sysextd failed to terminate extension with identifier: com.my.driver-dk: Optional(Error Domain=kernelmanagerd.KMError Code=38 "(null)") Issue occurs with macOS 13 - works fine with macOS 12 and macOS 11 What is the problem here? Have there been any changes in macOS in that regard?

evaluateJavaScript callback is significantly slow on macOS 26.2 for iOS App on Mac
Hello, After upgrading to macOS 26.2, I’ve noticed a significant performance regression when calling evaluateJavaScript in an iOS App running on Mac (WKWebView, Swift project). Observed behavior On macOS 26.2, the callback of evaluateJavaScript takes around 3 seconds to return. This happens not only for: evaluateJavaScript("navigator.userAgent") but also for simple or even empty scripts, for example: evaluateJavaScript("") On previous macOS versions, the same calls typically returned in ~200 ms. Additional testing I created a new, empty Objective-C project with a WKWebView and tested the same evaluateJavaScript calls. In the Objective-C project, the callback still returns in ~200 ms, even on macOS 26.2. Question Is this a known issue or regression related to: iOS Apps on Mac, Swift + WKWebView, or behavioral changes in evaluateJavaScript on macOS 26.2? Any information about known issues, internal changes, or recommended workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Test Code Swift class ViewController: UIViewController { private var tmpWebView: WKWebView? override func viewDidLoad() { super.viewDidLoad() // Do any additional setup after loading the view. setupUserAgent() } func setupUserAgent() { let t1 = CACurrentMediaTime() tmpWebView = WKWebView(frame: .zero) tmpWebView?.isInspectable = true tmpWebView?.evaluateJavaScript("navigator.userAgent") { [weak self] result, error in let t2 = CACurrentMediaTime() print("[getUserAgent] \(t2 - t1)s") self?.tmpWebView = nil } } } Test Code Objective-C - (void)scene:(UIScene *)scene willConnectToSession:(UISceneSession *)session options:(UISceneConnectionOptions *)connectionOptions { NSTimeInterval startTime = [[NSDate date] timeIntervalSince1970]; WKWebView *webView = [[WKWebView alloc] init]; dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{ [webView evaluateJavaScript:@"navigator.userAgent" completionHandler:^(id result, NSError *error) { NSTimeInterval endTime = [[NSDate date] timeIntervalSince1970]; NSLog(@"[getUserAgent]: %.2f s", (endTime - startTime)); }]; }); }

Advanced App Clip Main App approved but Appclip Experience Stuck in “Received” State (No Publish Option)
I am requesting assistance with an issue involving my Advanced App Clip Experience, which has remained in the “Received” state for more than few months, preventing the App Clip from becoming available when invoked via QR code. App Details App Name: Yellow Label Verification App Store Bundle ID: com.acviss.demoindia App Clip Bundle ID: com.acviss.demoindia.Clip Team ID: F2RLQ4VV59 App Version (Live): 1.4 Domain: acviss.com Issue Summary My Advanced App Clip Experience is stuck in the “Received” status. The “Publish” and “Build Assignment” options never appear, even though: The updated AASA file is correctly published at: https://acviss.com/.well-known/apple-app-site-association It contains the correct appclips → appID and paths entries It is served with the correct application/json content type Domain validation in App Store Connect shows Validated The App Clip build is already approved and live on the App Store Safari-based App Clip invocation works as expected Despite this, the Advanced App Clip Experience has not transitioned from “Received” to “Processing” or “Published.” Because of this, QR-based invocation consistently shows “App Clip Unavailable”, indicating that the App Clip Experience has not yet been activated on Apple’s backend. Reproduction Steps Publish correct AASA file with appclips array and paths Validate domain (shows green “Validated” in App Store Connect) Open the Advanced App Clip Experience in App Store Connect Status stays as Received “Build Assignment” or “Publish” buttons never appear QR scanning of the App Clip URL continues to show App Clip Unavailable Request Could you please check the backend processing of my App Clip Experience and manually trigger the sync or processing It appears that the App Clip Experience is not being processed even though all configuration, AASA, and domain validations are correct. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this so the App Clip can be invoked successfully via QR. Thank you very much for your help and support.

Stuck in "Waiting for Review" for 11 Days - Missed Critical Launch Date
I am looking for some insight into current App Store review times. The Situation: I submitted my new app for its first review on February 3rd. It has been sitting in the "Waiting for Review" state for 11 days now and has not moved to "In Review." The Impact: We had a major launch event planned for today (Feb 14). We have marketing campaigns live and users waiting, but we have officially missed our launch window because the app is still sitting in the queue. My Questions: Is anyone else experiencing wait times this long (10+ days) just to enter the review stage? How much time does it typically take for a first-time submission to go live once it finally enters review? Is there any way to flag this delay if it has exceeded the standard 48-hour window? We are losing marketing budget every hour this is delayed. Any advice on how to get this moving would be appreciated. Thanks.

App Review Delays?
Has anyone experienced all review delays? We usually get reviewed very fast or within 24 hours. Our last version was stuck in "waiting for review" for 6 days. We resubmitted a newer version yesterday and it's been stuck in the same status. I know apple has introduced a new app submission UX, maybe that's the issue? Anyone is having same delays?

ARSkeleton3D modelTransform always return nil
I use ARKit for motion tracking. I get the skeleton joint coordinates and use them for animation. I didn't make any changes to the code, but I updated the iOS version from 18 to 26, and modelTransform now always returns nil. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/arskeleton3d/modeltransform(for:) For example bodyAnchor.skeleton.modelTransform(for: .init(rawValue: "head_joint")) bodyAnchor is ARBodyAnchor. I see the default skeleton on the screen, but now I can't get the coordinates out of it. I'm using an example from Apple's WWDC presentation. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/capturing-body-motion-in-3d Are there any changes in the API? Or just bug?

tabViewBottomAccessory in 26.1: View's @State is lost when switching tabs
Any view that is content for the tabViewBottomAccessory API fails to retain its state as of the last couple of 26.1 betas (and RC). The loss of state happens (at least) when the currently selected tab is switched (filed as FB20901325).
