Hello,
In production, a large number of users experience outgoing call reporting fails with the following error:
com.apple.CallKit.error.requesttransaction Code=2
The iOS version doesn't matter, errors are present in v15-26
Details
My CXProvider held as a global singleton, so it’s unlikely to be deinited.
There is no explicit call to CXProvider.invalidate() in the app.
If I manually invalidate the CXProvider, I observe the expected failure when trying to create an outgoing call (com.apple.CallKit.error.requesttransaction error 2).
However, If I recreate the CXProvider after the error, outgoing calls are reported correctly.
Many users trigger the providerDidReset delegate method (CXProviderDelegate) before this error.
According to the documentation, providerDidReset can be called by the system, and we are supposed to end all active calls, but the documentation doesn't suggest recreating the CXProvider.
Question
Should I recreate CXProvider after providerDidReset and forget about that, or could this error be caused by something else?

Hi everyone,
I’m running into a strange issue with UISearchController placement with iOS 26 SDK.
In one of my view controllers, I was able to move the search bar to the top of the navigation bar by setting:
navigationItem.searchController = searchController
navigationItem.hidesSearchBarWhenScrolling = false
navigationItem.preferredSearchBarPlacement = .stacked
This works as expected — the search bar is placed at the top.
However, in another view controller with almost identical configuration, the search bar always shows up at the bottom. If I delay the setup with DispatchQueue.main.async, it appears at the bottom; if I don’t, it doesn’t appear at all. Both VCs are wrapped in their own UINavigationController.
So my questions are:
Has anyone faced this issue where preferredSearchBarPlacement = .stacked is ignored?
Are there hidden requirements or limitations for placing the search bar at the top?
Why could the same setup behave differently in two controllers?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated!
I'm using one UITabBarController which leads to 6 NavigationController. Therefore the user will get 4 icons displayed and one icon with three points to see the rest of the Navigation Controller.
If the user now tries to edit the list and moves one item from the hidden area towards the TabBar at the bottom, the App crashes with the error:
Exception
NSException * "Can't add self as subview" 0x0000600000d16040
I can see this effect at least on both my apps.
If the same compilation is run on a older iOS version, there is no crash.
Is there anything I have to take care of the configuration of the TabBar, when it comes to iOS26?

Recently, I've noticed that background Bluetooth scanning stops when I move an app to the background on an iPhone 17 device with Bluetooth 6. I'm curious about a solution. Background Bluetooth scanning doesn't stop on devices older than iOS 26, or on devices that were updated from an iPhone 17 or earlier to iOS 26.
Hey there
Just updated to Xcode 26 on mac OS Sequoia (MBP M1 Max 32GB, 2021, so you know, still pretty decent and capable).
Xcode is super slow on building, but also on editing. There is a lag between what I type and what is displayed. Am I the only one experiencing this?
Is there something I should look into?

Description
When presenting a SwiftUI WebView (native iOS 26 component) or a WKWebView/UIWebView via UIViewRepresentable, focusing a text field inside the web view and then dismissing it breaks the keyboard layout behavior.
After returning to the main app, tapping any TextField causes the keyboard to cover bottom controls (e.g. buttons). Expected safe area insets are not applied.
The issue is only resolved after closing and reopening the keyboard once.
Steps to Reproduce
Open a SwiftUI screen with WebView (via .sheet or NavigationLink).
Inside the web view, tap a text field to show the keyboard.
Dismiss the web view.
Tap a TextField in the main app.
Expected Result
Layout should adjust correctly.
Bottom controls stay visible above the keyboard.
Actual Result
Keyboard covers bottom controls.
Insets are ignored until the keyboard is dismissed and reopened.
Notes
Reproduces with:
Native SwiftUI WebView (iOS 26)
WKWebView and UIWebView via UIViewRepresentable
Presentation style (.sheet or navigation push) does not matter.

}
}

}
}
}
}
}

I’ve observed several areas in iOS where user experience could be enhanced, such as keyboard flexibility, animation speed, biometric options, cache management, background uploads, navigation reliability, and automation features.
Addressing these aspects would not only improve usability but also align iOS more closely with diverse user needs across regions and use cases. What enhancements would you consider most valuable?

Hi all - i'm encountering a strange issue since updating to Xcode 26.0.1.
It seems that any SwiftUI Views that have an :ObservedObject property that contains @Published properties, and use those properties inside the View, no longer update when those properties are updated when the view also has an @Environment property.
If I remove the @Environment property and any usage of it, the view updates correctly.
The specific environment property i'm using is .safeAreaInsets, like so:
@Environment(\.safeAreaInsets) private var safeAreaInsets
Is this a recognised bug in the latest iOS 26 SDK?
Thanks
When you use .navigationTransition(.zoom(sourceID: "placeholder", in: placehoder)) for navigation animation, going back using the swipe gesture is still very buggy on IOS26. I know it has been mentioned in other places like here: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/796805?answerId=856846022#856846022 but nothing seems to have been done to fix this issue.
Here is a video showing the bug comparing when the back button is used vs swipe to go back: https://imgur.com/a/JgEusRH
I wish there was a way to at least disable the swipe back gesture until this bug is fixed.
Attempting to bring up the access point yields the following error log:
[GameCenterOverlayService] Failed to create GameOverlayUI Dashboard Remote Proxy
[GameCenterOverlayService] Could not create endpoint for service name: com.apple.GameOverlayUI.dashboard-service
[GameCenterOverlayService] Failed to create GameOverlayUI Dashboard Remote Proxy
[GameCenterOverlayService] Could not create endpoint for service name: com.apple.GameOverlayUI.dashboard-service
[GameCenterOverlayService] Failed to create GameOverlayUI Dashboard Remote Proxy
[GameCenterOverlayService] Failed to create GameOverlayUI Dashboard Remote Proxy
The same code (which is a single line setting 'active' to true) works on physical devices and on the simulator in iOS 18.6
I haven't been able to find any mention of this issue online. Any suggestions or help greatly appreciated.
The documentation specifies that when Contacts framework returns unified contacts that each fetched unified contact object (CNContact) has its own unique identifier that’s different from any individual contact’s identifier in the set of linked contacts and that when refetching a unified contact, that this identifier should be used.
There is also an analogous identifier within the list of contactRelations, but each of these don't seem to corespondent to the unified contacts. For example, is a new contact (Sheryl Zakroff) is created in the simulator Contacts and their spouse is set to Hank Zakroff. However, the GUID created for the contactRelations identifier does not correlate to the original Hank Zakroff GUID and cannot be searched.
Is this a bug or what is the indent of the contactRelations identifier?
Here's a debug output of walking the unifiedContacts:

How has your experience with ASO been, and did paid App Store ads make a noticeable positive impact?
I’m launching my game on May 9 and have been going through Apple’s App Store course. It’s informative but also feels like a marketing push. For those who’ve tried App Store campaigns, did they actually drive results like views, conversions, or in-app purchases? Sharing your app/industry for context would be super helpful.

I’ve invested heavily in developing my app, but marketing and ASO remain challenging. Despite experimenting with different keywords and tools, my rankings haven’t improved much. Is this just a matter of time?

Unexpected behavior encountered when scanning NFC tags.
Imagine a link shortener web service where users can create lots of different URLs that are hosted on the same domain eg, https://short.com/unique-path
The service has optional App Clip capability -- users can select any of their links and have the service create an App Clip for the selected link(s).
Users can encode their URLs into NFC tags and have their customers scan NFC tags.
Let's take just two URLs for example:
https://short.com/foo
https://short.com/bar
The /foo link does have an App Clip associated with it while /bar does not have it. Each link has been encoded into appropriate NFC tag.
Expected behavior when scanning from an iPhone:
/foo -- shows an App Clip popup.
/bar -- shows a "Open in Safari" default notification.
What's actually happening
/foo -- opens App Clip poput with correct metadata (title, subtitle, image) which is totally expected behavior.
/bar (the one that doesn't have app clip associated with it) -- opens an App-Clip-like popup with the following error: CPSErrorDomainError 2 (see attachment below)
So for some reason when someone scans an NFC tag with a URL that is not an App Clip and never has been -- it always shows that error regardless whether the URL exists or does not exist. I've tried few different/random URLs (which don't have an App Clip associated with it) and all of them show the same error.
Additional details:
All links use the same domain and URL format: domain.com/path where path is a short string of random a-Z characters.
All App Clips are created at the same iOS app.
AASA is good: Cache and Debug -- both green.
This issue has happened to lots of users on lots of different iPhones and iOS'.
Since the issue's been happening to lots of different users on different iPhone(s)/iOS' no sysdiagnose is attached. Actually it works the same on every device/iOS we've tried.
Before submitting the issue, I've found few other developers reporting the same issue.
What's interesting though is none of the links I've went through comes with a definite answer and it seems like this issue just randomly comes and goes without any specific changes on the server and/or iOS app.

The APP was not awakened by system after start a liveactivity and the liveactivity has showed on lock screen.so the updatetoken wont send to our inner server and the liveactivity can not update,often like this,but sometimes it can work.
it makes me confuse,and i don't know how should i can do,because the liveactivity like a black box,i can not analyse the data link.for example ,inner server send a start liveactivity,but it can not accept a updatetoken unless the user lanuch APP.
i hope the liveactivity can start and update on background. And i have developed it as described in the document.
Hope to get your help,thank you very much.
I’m experiencing a strange issue with the App Switcher on my iPad.
When I swipe up from the bottom to open the App Switcher, the apps that should be running sometimes don’t appear — they briefly flash for a split second and then disappear.
The App Switcher itself stays open, but it shows no app cards.
Here are some details:
Device: iPad Pro (11-inch, 2nd generation)
iPadOS version: 26.0.1
Reproducibility: Happens intermittently
Steps to reproduce:
Open several apps.
Swipe up from the bottom and pause to show the App Switcher.
Sometimes, the app cards flash for a moment and then disappear, leaving the App Switcher empty.
Expected behavior:
The App Switcher should display all running apps consistently.
Actual behavior:
The App Switcher appears, but the app cards briefly flash and disappear, leaving a blank screen.
I’ve seen a few similar reports on the Apple Support Community, but I’m not sure if this is a known issue in iPadOS 26.0.1.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any confirmations or workarounds would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

I use ARKit for motion tracking. I get the skeleton joint coordinates and use them for animation. I didn't make any changes to the code, but I updated the iOS version from 18 to 26, and modelTransform now always returns nil.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/arskeleton3d/modeltransform(for:)
For example
bodyAnchor.skeleton.modelTransform(for: .init(rawValue: "head_joint"))
bodyAnchor is ARBodyAnchor.
I see the default skeleton on the screen, but now I can't get the coordinates out of it.
I'm using an example from Apple's WWDC presentation.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/capturing-body-motion-in-3d
Are there any changes in the API? Or just bug?
When I start a Simulator (iPhone 13 mini) with iOS 26 and activate "Use the Same Keyboard Language as macOS", it still sets the keyboard to US (my Mac keyboard is in German). This makes the Mac keyboard unusable. It looks like a bug, because it clearly ignores the settings. When I type “@”, I get “¬”. Restarting the simulator did nothing, changing the settings back and forth also.
BTW: Why does every single update of XCode come with a bug nowadays? I always have to spend half a day after an update to fix a problem I didn't have before. Highly frustrating.
I've followed the setup process to get Apple Hosted Background Assets configured for my project.
(https://developer.apple.com/documentation/backgroundassets/downloading-apple-hosted-asset-packs)
But when I build and run the app I get the following error...
BackgroundAssets/AssetPackManager.swift:174: Fatal error: The process lacks a team ID.
I've checked the Signing->Team for both targets and they both have my Team associated.
Any help or advice would be appreciated...
